Anyone else here studying bellydance? I started studying ATS (American Tribal Style) just over 18 months ago. I've never been so happy sweating for 60-90 minutes at a time.

My classes happen to all be in the Fat Chance Belly Dance style (FCBD), the classic and modern moves from Carolena Nericcio's system. I've only just started studying level 3 in the past month, and looking at my 2012 dance schedule, I'm planning to dance 4 nights per week, averaging 6 hours per week.

Any other bellydancers online? Cabaret? Tribal Fusion? Egyptian? Folkloric? FCBD ATS? Black Sheep style?

Yup - my teachers have been Egyptian/American Cabaret with a little ITS. That makes me...a mutt.

I go to dance class to dance. I go to Zumba to sweat. Not that I can't sweat in class, but they are not structured in that manner (nothing wrong with your way either, it depends on the classes, styles, and teachers).

Enjoy learning!

I've been taught Turkish Cab for 3(ish) years now, but I love playing around with Tribal Fusion (especially gothy kind of stuff).

No time for a workout? Got 7 minutes to spare?
