Just getting used to the functions of the site, but I will likely have lots of dumb questions as I go...

Hi and welcome, just a tip. The exercise "calorie" calculator overestimates your calories on this site. So if you base your calorie consumption based on activity calories, you may not lose anything or, worse, gain. Took me a long time to learn not to rely on the activity log on this site. Maybe that's the "fat secret" Smile

I agree with mrspackrat, the calories burned is estimated too high, so if you have a heart rate monitor you may want to use it. I still use the site, but I just know the deficit won't be as much. I'm doing okay, but just staying pretty steady. I'm here to learn healthier habits and the weight loss is a bonut. I've found a lot of great tips on this site and I hope you do too. I hope you find success here!!

Yes, I thought that the whole "calories per day" thing was a bit wonky. I burn an awful lot through exercise, though... Anywho, I am just using the site's calorie tracking tools for now.
