I think there are quite a few people on Atkins here - friendly ones.
Day 3 is exciting - you may be hitting ketosis and feeling some of the flu maybe?

Hey Kimberley - I just started atkins today! I did find a low carb forum on FS that has a lot of info you may want to check it out.
Great job on the smoking and good luck on the atkins Smile

The first three days are difficult. But seem to get easier by the fourth day. drink lots of water, and do something nice for yourself. if this was easy we would have done it a long time ago

It's one day at a time and determination. If you really want it to happen it will, if your not in whole heartily your only kidding yourself.

rebellady, take a look at the low carb daily check in and the recipes posted there, that helps a whole lot.

There are lots here to support you but you have to do the work and it is difficult as Racegirl says or we'd all have done it a very long time ago.

Good luck to all of you, decide you want a better life, that part isn't hard at all.

Day 7 on Atkins. Didn't start to lose until day 5 but seeing progress now. Don't give up. You can do it. Slow and steady wins the race!

Epacem, I looked at the entry of food you've entered and it doesn't look like you're eating enough protein or veggies. Although, there are atkins shakes and bars, it's best to rely on actual foods. Some people have issues losing weight while eating and drinking atkins meal replacements. Everyone loses weight at a difference pace and given the fact that you don't have as much to lose it may be a little more difficult for you to get it off. If you're in the induction phase make sure you're eating 20 net carbs with 12-15 of those coming from veggies on the acceptable list for that phase. Also, drink LOTS of water. I hope this helps and you are able to start seeing a loss. Good luck!

If you get a headache, try drinking broth with full sodium. It helped me a lot. I use the Kitchen Basics brand as there are no preservatives.

If you are using the Atkins shakes and bars and not losing, it could be because they contain a small amount of sugar. For that reason, I have switched to the AdvantEdge shakes. I get them at Walmart and they have NO SUGAR. I use Atkins bars on occasion, but be sure to get the ones with no sugar. I love the Chocolate Chip Granola! And they are handy for the times I'm away from home. I keep one in my car at all times.

I've been on Atkins for about a year now, I got a little too comfortable adding carbs back in during Pre-Maintenance and cheating during the holidays, so I'm trying to get back on track with watching my carbs and exercising regularly. I'd love to keep in touch with you and share support!
