If you can start it when you have a few days off you will feel better if you can rest when you detox.

Love the food that loves you back.

Take it one day at a time!

I was actually planning on a 40-day water fast but a major job opportunity came up and I cut the fast short so I wouldn't look so gaunt at the interview.

you only had water for 25 days, how did you feel?

Amazing. The first three days are always a bit rough, but once the initial hunger subsided I felt a peacefulness wash over me, and by day twenty my spirituality and creativity were skyrocketing. I was also getting a lot more work done because I wasn't thinking about food or spending time cooking. I also had more time because I abstained from Tv, Movies, non essential internet, Music, sex, masturbation, and drug use. I completely reset the pleasure center of my brain and it has been one of the greatest experiences of my life so far, everything I do has a sort of grandiosity to it because it's all fresh and exciting again.

sbutler- I could understand how abstaining from those things would make them more exciting. Those things are a part of our lives so much that they are habits. We don't even have to think about doing them, but once they are taken away, we realize the importance. Very interesting. I think I would still miss food!

Just wanted to update you on the juicing. This is day 5 and I still have a ton of energy just from the juice. I only almost broke once!

I only did the solid lunch for the first two days and then realized that I just wanted to stick with the juice. I am introducing real food back in for dinner and I hope it doesnt kill me. I didn't work out this week as I was exhausted when I got home due to a ton of overtime (poor planning on my part) but I am excited to get started this weekend. I feel refreshed and like I don't need to rely on caffeine to start my day. The caffeine headaches are hard, but I just drink water and power through.

Total cost for 5 days of produce (and enough left to supplement for the rest of the weekend) = about $60. Considering the fact that I usually spend a ton of money on lunches at work I consider it a win!!

Jess - Amen, sister. So excited for sex and booze haha!

I also did the Mater Cleanse several years ago. After 3 days I was bouncing off walls with energy, after one week I didn't crave any foods. I did it for 30 days lost 46 pounds and 4 months later I was 60 pounds heavier. Sad

I just saw a show on the 'Rule of Three'.
That hard to be tough doing that. Is it safe and recommended by doctors?

Three minutes without air (not holding you breath but being deprived of fresh air)
Three days without water
Three weeks without food

It took a couple days (and prune juice) but everything was regular after that. I'm sure the weight drop was water weight, but I hope some of it stays off! I also drank probably 100 oz. of water a day because the juice was a little pricey and I never seemed to prepare enough.

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about incorporating prune juice into my cleanse, too bad it tastes disgusting.

I want to give juice diet a try and see the many benefits it can do for my body. I would love to watch that movie too and see how fruits and vegetables did wonders to their health.

I have been drinking a green smoothie (spinach + fruit) daily and it has really helped me reduce overall calories and shed a lot of digestive blockage. Together with fiber and lean protein, I recommend this! (and sex is good excercise, so don't give that up!)
I am not losing weight. I am gaining health. Since April 24, 2012:

Your body doesn't need cleases- it's designed to take care of itself. Just eat good food, lots of water, and move and it will take care of itself. "Cleanses" are just a way for companies to sell you products and any weight you lose will just be from the calorie restriction.

What's the oldest recorded cure for diseases? Fasting. What's the most common unifying theme in almost every major religion? Advocacy of fasting. But I'm sure an article you read online without citations is a better source than ~3,000 years of anecdotal evidence.

I don't know if you would call this a cleanse but everyday I have a kale, tomatoe, celery, apple, banana, mixed berry, and flaxseed smoothie for breakfast and lunch, and then for dinner tofu with either veggies or a salad. The smoothie fills you up throughout the day and the dinner is enough to satisfy your hunger at night.

Sounds like a less extreme version of a cleanse to me since you aren't eating processed food, but not torturing yourself either.
