I'm big on orville redenbacher's all natural popcorn. Hypothetically... Is that allowed in the Paleo diet? I figure it comes from corn kernals and it's all natural... Or is that just wishful thinking?

Any thoughts??

I don't follow the paleo diet, but I can tell you that there is palm oil in that popcorn. Does the diet allow oils?

My understanding of the paleo diet is that corn isn't allowed because it is a grain. Inversely, palm oil is a-ok.

Corn Is Not a Vegetable
Smart Fuel: Palm Oil

I guess there's really no pleasing some people. Laughing (Source: http://bit.ly/ekORk0)

ohhhh crumbs......I am very new to Paleo Solutino....just 2 weeks into it. I also was curious about popcorn. Love it as a snack. I found a good one. All natural, gluten free, no butter, no sugars ...but it does have sunflower oil. I love it as an occasional snack with raw almonds. My biggest concern was ...is it a grain? My suspicion was it is....and so my seeking out, i found the answer......bummer. : (

Im doing Paleo and I just researched today and found out that there are two reasons why we cant have corn:
1. Yes it is a grain
2. Its not actually a naturally occuring plant. In Paleolithic times there was no such this as corn. Corn was genetically modified and created by breeding a grain and a grass.
