Im trying to lose 12 lbs in the next month. Has anyone tried Jillian Michaels 30 days shred dvd and if so, what were your results, feedback, etc. Thanks!

I would highly recommend it to anyone. I started it this summer along with a strict diet of calorie counting. I toned up amazingly and dropped two sizes in about 6 weeks. I got lazy and got off of it. Today was my first day back on and Im already loving it!

Thanks! About how many lbs did you drop in those 2 months? and how often were you weighing yourself? Did you find it pretty difficult?

I also recommend it as well. It's awesome because it's only 30 minute workouts so you can fit it in almost anywhere. I lost about 5 lbs my first week but I didn't do it every day like you're supposed to.

I started it yesterday and I always have troubles with this kind of workouts, but with the Jillian Michaels you have a lot of difference: strength, cardio and abs. I felt really fit and refreshed this morning when I woke up.
So, how did your 30 day shred go?

I loved it. I was pretty fit to start with and still saw changes and lost a few pounds. I even got my husband to do it with me

I tried, but lost only 2 pounds... Maybe it's my fault... You should try

I did it before, well, sort of! I did it for about two weeks, and I only ever did levels one and two I never tried level three, and I found I lost about an inch and a half off my waist which was great, but the scale showed I gained 4 lbs! Its a bit discouraging gaining muscle weight so I would advise to stick to measurements and how clothes fit as your motivator, and of course how much you tone up! Ive started back on my exercising this week and am switching between the 30 day shred and a few other DVDs, I'm determined to be toned by Christmas day! Haha

I checked it out on youtube. If you follow that it will really increase your fitness, but listen to your body. It's okay to take days off when you are in pain, and if you are not already in shape you could find it stressful.
Also, just because it is good exercise doesn't mean you will lose weight without controlling your calorie intake. Keep the food diary every day.

I found it quite hard because even though I had been doing it for couple weeks my body still ached. I would try it again though since i did lose half a stone in those two weeks.
Good luck anyway.

Did any of you log it under in the exercise diary? If so, what did you log it as?

I have never logged it, but honestly never found that I burned more than 100 calories doing it - I have a bodymedia fit that calculates calories burned. (5'0" and 125 lbs.) Hope that helps. I have had success witht the program as far as toning up, and when I did it 7 days a week, I think I averaged 1 lb/week. I no longer do it as I do other exercises and found that I plateud with her program (exercise wise and weight loss wise). I now do Peak Fitness program (way more intense) and Zumba for cardio and I lift weights 4x week. I think lifting weights has really helped my phisique.

I did it last year for about 2 weeks and I thought I'd die with the pain in my legs. I started it again yesterday and I went straight to level 2 because I've been working out regularly for weeks now and I felt strong, it was tough but I'm surprised at how good I feel this morning, only a few aches in my shoulders and that would be from my weights. I'm going to do it every week along with my other dvds. I have to agree with Sasha-Anne, it's about measurements not scales, muscle weighs more than fat.

Thanks for the replies! I did day 1 level 1 yesterday and thought it wasn't too tough, but it's nice to do something different. I'll have to check out the Peak Fitness program.

I just started a 30 day shred challenge, feel free to join! I need motivation to finally push through it! As for logging, I think the most accurate is circuit training

I think if you follow the program and eat healthy you should see a loss. I enjoyed 30 day shred, but didn't eat well when I did it, so I pretty much maintained. I like Jillian's Ripped in 30 better because it has 4 levels and I thought it was a little more challenging than 30 day shred, and things are changed up a little, so I'd recommend for anyone who likes 30 day shred to try ripped in 30 also.

I did it last October and lost 10 lbs. I put it in using other and call it jillian michaels. I used a calorie counter and heart rate monitor and found that I was burning approximately 425 calories a workout. Good luck.
Tomorrow is fresh with no mistakes in it.

I'm doing her Body Revolution and revolution is the word. I've found muscles I didn't even know I had. Only problem I have had is that she integrates quite a bit of jumping and apparently I have a week right ankle. Had to modify a lot of the exercises while I healed and I still struggle with ankle pain sometimes after the video.

Burpees - Correct Form
