I am new here, been on a week. II just made Marsala Lentil Barley soup and want to add it to my daily food journal so I input the recipe and can't figure out how to add to my daily journal from that recipe. It lets me input from some canned soup choices but not my recipe with has marsala and other ingredients probably not found in canned soup. I got all the nutritional information, just don' know how to get it on my daily food intake
Thanks, Gina

I'm also new here and will be putting my homemade veggie soup here for future reference. What I plan on doing is to list each ingredient individually, keep a running total of each one, cal, carb, protein, etc. and amount used, then add them all together. Then I'd break it down into servings. Make sense?
Hope someone else can help you and me too with this.
Good Luck
May I be free to be the me that I came into this world to be.

I've discovered that I can list all the ingredients as a "Meal" and it totals the cals, protein, carbs, etc for me. I have noticed though, that some of the stuff entered isn't in here right so I have to play with the servings to get the cals right (i.e. GNC Maximum CLA is 30 cals per pill and the saved info lists a serving of 3 pills at 20 cals so I have to say that I took 4.5 pills to get the correct 90 calories for a full days serving of 3 pills)

I do what Ozon does - esp when making soup. I enter the whole pot of ingredients as the meal and then take the totals to enter it as a new food then measure the end results quantity to enter it into the food diary per serving. It's a bit of a task but I consider it training my mind on the nutritional totals behind each food for when I attempt to start eating intuitively.

Like Classic Rocker , I do the ingredients individually per serving

Here is what i do,, I add the totals up for the whole pot of whatever i am making.. Then when its finished cooking i measure it all out by 1 cup at a time. Once i know how many cups are in the whole pot, i then can divide it by how many cups and figure out how many calories and other stuff are in 1 cup.. You then add it as a new item, and check the box that says its your own personal meal.. Save it so only you can see it, i don't share mine because its my own personal recipe.. Then under additional notes, i will type it exactly what ingredients and how much was used in that pot for future reference.. Its a pain in a, but it works.

Another thing you can do is calculate the entire thing and enter it as a personal meal as others have said but when you eat a portiuon of it only enter in that portion. If your soup makes 8 servings you can enter 1/8 of the total.
Pain is a by-product of a good time.

The importance of setting your Recommended Daily Intake RDI
I agree... If you stick with the default you will most likely not see the results you want. I adjust my calorie range for every 5-10 pounds lost. I need to redo mine today.
