I hope you do well and ignore your Dad's comments and do whatever works for you to be healthy! I just had to put my 2 cents in last night. Also what works for one person doesn't work for another.

Im trying to change my lifestyle but i keep it to myself because as soon as i give in to temptation everyone who knows become judgemental, also some people like to fool people, as soon as they know you are eating healthy and exercising when the see you after a week they start saying wooow you have lost weight, really now can they see 0.5kg difference in your body?

I let everyone know!!
I finally found something that works for me, and I want to share it not make money off of it.
Besides, it helps me with my own responsability.
WHATEVER works for you as an individual matters, and shouldnt be laughed at.
When you take responsability for the way you eat, you will stand up for yourself no matter what!!

My co-workers that I eat lunch with and my 1st grade team know that I am dieting. They notice that I have been losing weight. My family knows that I am dieting as well. It is not a secret. I don't really want it to be, because I want to have all the support I need around me to support me when I need it.

People didn't believe me when I told them. I love food and am working on a cookbook for my family, so maybe that's why? Maybe my refusal to sacrifice delicious food for smaller pants (I can have both thanks) threw them off? Dunno. Maybe when I get to my goal weight they'll believe me? I've stopped telling people.

I was here whining because no one has noticed I've lost almost 50 lbs. I have to agree with many about being private, but at the same time, I need the encouragement. After posting my "whine with the cheese", I started letting people know I made the conscious decision to begin eating healthier and exercising. Got a little encouragement, a lot of "yeah right, I didn't notice" comments and others didn't respond. So I stopped telling anyone.

Talked with my neurosurgeon's p.a. yesterday and told her I wanted to live another 20-30 years. At least. She said with the continued exercise and weight loss, I would. Got me downstairs exercising with a new found determination today.

Haha ClassicRocker, I pitched a fit to my husband at Thanksgiving that nobody had noticed 25+ lost, so then at Xmas and my stepkids' two birthday parties, everyone was gushing over how thin I got. I wanted to die because I know he said something to them to make sure they commented. Now it's overboard and almost fake on their part!

That being said, the encouragement is nice, especially at work where there is always some sort of caloric nonsense in the faculty room. One girl had gastric bypass and another just started her membership with WW so we constantly swap recipes, tips, and genuine, truthful compliments.

Sarah, that's how I am. Most of the close associates I know at work know I try to eat healthy. Today we are working through lunch and they are bringing in the usual pizza. I'll skip it and eat what I brought. You can do healthy pizza but this stuff isn't. Trying to boost my exercise to lose wt but it is hard with asthma issue flaring up this time of year/
