Fat Flush Soup

Has anyone tried the Fat Flush slimming soup? The basic soup has been around for a while, but an updated version was printed in First magazine this past month. I've made it several times, varying it at times, and have eaten it sporadically. But this past week, I decided to follow the plan and eat the soup for two meals. It's actually very good, haven't gotten tired of it, and I've lost 4 pounds in four days. Is it working for anyone else?

I just looked at the recipe. It looks like it's just a basic low-calorie low-sodium soup. There's no magic to it-- you're just eating about 300 calories per meal for two meals a day. You're also probably reducing your sodium intake. The combination of those two things means you're probably losing a fair bit of water weight.

It does seem to be fairly protein-rich and nutritionally sane. It seems like a reasonable low-calorie meal, though you could get the same effect with any number of meals that have a similar nutritional profile.

Your overall daily calorie intake seems too low, though. You generally don't want to drop below 1200 calories per day for any length of time-- that will tend to slow your metabolism down.

True, I don't see any magic in it. But it's an easy soup to make, it makes a lot, so I have a quick meal on hand if necessary. I put it in 2 cup containers and freeze them. I also tweet the recipe a little, not so much tomato juice, the whole bottle makes it too tomatoy for my taste, and I add 4 cups of chopped spinach. I'm also not a big fan of beans, so I only use 1 cup, rather than 2.

I generally eat 1100 calories a day, and one day a week, I drop it to about 800. That works for me. I've never believed much in that "starvation mode" bunk. It really makes no sense, and if I ate 1500 calories a day as suggested by some gurus, I know I would gain weight.
So I stick to what works for me.

The idea is to trick it by eating less more days but dont forget to eat more the next, especially on days you are going to work out. THere are some days where i eat as little as 900 and I'm losing weight just fine. Your metabolism wont slow until your body has undergone a long starvation period of at LEAST 12 hours. By eating more one day and less anothing you are tricking your metabolism in a weird way. If the soup is working for you and your losing weight, keep at it!!!! All of the advice i just gave you is advice someone gave me, and it is definitely working for me!!!! good luck!

It looks as if it is working for you. Your weight and goal seem similar to mine. I was at 140, now at 128, and trying for 120, but keep stalling at 128. I don't work that hard at it though. Thanks for the tip. It actually works better for me to eat a little less on the days I work out.

This is a great time to make your own cranwater while they are in season. I get a bag of cranberries for 99 cents here so you are saving bundles; it is however, a little time consuming.
