Water Weight?!?

So I'm trying not to freak out by some randomness on my scale, but someone please help me haha. So I woke up yesterday @ 165 and I was like woo hoo! Go to the gym work out leave the gym still @ 165 which is great b/c my gym scale is slightly evil as well. I had forgotten my cranwater at home so instead of buying a $5 bottle at whole foods I figured I'd just drink the bottle I had already made at home. Post gym I had a smoothie with soy milk (since I did more than brisk walking) and 3 ounces of turkey to make sure I hit my 8oz. minimum. Then I got home and had all of my cranwater (32oz) and my llc (8oz). I was good the entire, I had my spinach & scrambled eggs for breakfast...apple for snack#1...Italian Wedding Soup for lunch (chicken broth/spinach/turkey meatballs/herbs & spices)...apple pre workout...and then the post workout smoothie/protein/drinks like I mentioned up top and wake up this morning @ 170? Sorry for such a long post, but I'm so confused.

i have the same bs with my scale- i don't think it's water weight- i think the scale is haunted. It seems like with some of these scales, if you move it, or stand on it different from the last time , you weight changes radically. I have seen 12c pound variances the same "sessiom" where i keep getting on & off the scale. It's shameless!
So-I wonder if: your floor is level (mine isn't), and whether you scale really is reliable? What kind is it (digital, etc.)

but, also (you're not supposed to have soy milk)although i don't know what phase you are on!

I thought soy milk was fine b/c there's no dairy in it...it's the Silk plus w. DHA...mine isn't digital its just the old school one w. the lil meter stick thingie...it seems pretty accurate/reliable and the one at the gym is the medical one, but I always take into acct. that my home scale I use first thing in the morning and the gym is at night and I'm dressed so I take that into consideration as well.

The only accurate scale I know of is the kind that they use in a doctor's office with the weights. Who can afford one of those in their homes? Anyway, just use the scale as another means of measurement but don't rely on it solely. Have you taken your measurements? This can be a real self-esteem booster if you see that you've lost inches and your clothes are fitting better. I have water retention doing that time of month but also I noticed that if you eat something salty w/o knowing it, the scale doesn't have any mercy on you. Watch your soups, they tend to be high on sodium! Wink

You could just be retaining water. Don't freak out yet. It also makes a difference if you have/haven't *ahem* eliminated Shock in the last 12 hours. Just take it into consideration. Just keep following the plan, stick to it 100% and if you don't see results in a couple weeks, then you can get concerned. Good luck!

Weight loss since starting.
:d I have lost 5 pounds since starting a week ago. I know I can't keep that amount of weight loss but it's a good start. I'll be happhy if I can lose 2 pounds a week.

This is a great time to make your own cranwater while they are in season. I get a bag of cranberries for 99 cents here so you are saving bundles; it is however, a little time consuming.
