Hello all. I know the by-the-book answer to this question is "only Stevia Plus." BUT I really like Splenda and happen to have a lot of it at home, while this stevia stuff is only sold in one store in my area - not to mention it's more expensive. SO, I was wondering if anyone knows if Splenda will slow or inhibit weight loss. I don't care about all the other cleansing stuff, just the weight loss part. Thanks!

I don't think the answer is simple. I believe it is totally individually. Splenda does inhibit weight loss for me but not for my husband. Why? I don't know. It does not suppose to spike blood sugar and I believe it O.K. for diabetics...it's just not good for my weight loss plan

I have read that splenda and nutra sweet cause the system to react the same way as if it were real sugar. Causing an increase in sugar to be released into the blood stream which results in more fat absorbed by the body. It may not limit weight loss but it does not aid in FAT loss.

That's interesting, if you can recall where you read that, I would appreciate knowing if this is really a fact. I'm having about 6 or more packets of Splenda a day and worry about side effects and long term effects. I haven't seen any concrete evidence pointing to anything particularly bad but not enough time has passed for studies to be really conclusive. I have noticed the problems that the sugar industry is having with Splenda evidently claiming to be made from real sugar and other organizations demanding that because of that Splenda should be removed from the market. However, I haven't seen a study yet that shows that it does any harm. Has anyone else?

Good lord vegans can gain. I don't now where the stereotype of a scrawny pasty faced vegans came from but it's WRONG! I second the healthy fats and proteins for hunger control.

This is a great time to make your own cranwater while they are in season. I get a bag of cranberries for 99 cents here so you are saving bundles; it is however, a little time consuming.
