Having had a super couple of weeks I found that one of the smartest things I did was to go through my cupboards and literally throw out all the foods that weren't allowed on the plan. It helped me make a great start and I'm sure not going to buy the nasties at the supermarket.
Try not to waste a lot of food or money. You can always give away unopened food to friends n family...

I've also cleared out the cupboards and let me tell you there was a lot to clean out. I would actually save a bunch of money if I didn't buy some of the stuff I found. Have to try and be less wasteful. Take an actual shopping list to the supermarket in future.

Be vigilant and make sure that you don't reintroduce the same trash into your cupboards over time, that's the true test of whether that startegy works.

I completely agree - if it isn't in the house, it takes a lot more effort to go get it! And, for me, it's important to not get too hungry...Ok to get hungry, just not SO hungry that I revert into my cavewoman mentality and I'm on the hunt, and will snarf down anything that looks edible!

Like the way you put it - on the hunt - I think I open the frig door that many times that it's like being at a club the lights going on and off
Not sure what I'm expecting to see different every time that I open it or the pantry but its just a habit.

We did the same. We cleaned out the pantry good and proper, and now if we want to reward ourselves we make an outing of it and head down to the shops to buy ourselves a treat.

As long as you don't find yourself heading to the shops every couple of hours

The same thing goes for thanksgiving leftovers, while no one wants to throw out great food, don't just eat it because it's there.

We went to our friend's for dinner, and when the leftovers were being dolled out, I made sure I didn't bring anything home. It was challenging enough to stay on plan through the dinner, I sure as heck didn't want to lengthen the period of temptation by bringing anything home with us that I would have trouble resisting.

I must admit I probably overate a bit but because I ate the right foods I feel alot better about myself and I also 'left' the leftovers. Much less guilt, much more fat busting.

This is a great time to make your own cranwater while they are in season. I get a bag of cranberries for 99 cents here so you are saving bundles; it is however, a little time consuming.
