Just joined yesterday. My goal is to lose 20 pounds. Counting calories and keeping track of everything I eat. Day 2 and I was really hungry earlier. Now I'm doing better. Will start to drink green tea with lemon tomorrow.

I'm new too, but I've been doing the atkins diet for a long time, and had hit a plateau, but anyways my point here being, that the easiest way to lose 20lbs is to count your net carbs, not just your calories. Try 2 weeks of keeping your carb count under 20 per day, and your calories between 12-1500. Oh and try for those carbs to come in the form of green leafy or salad type vegetables. This will jump start your diet.

Thanks for the tips, Krhfy6. I'm a healthcare provider in private practice, so I'm familiar with nutrition. I am starting with the calorie count exclusively but also watching my carbs. Atkins would be difficult for me as I am not a big meat eater. Hope to incorporate some exercise in my extremely busy schedule. Once again, thanks for responding to my post and LET'S DO THIS!

You can do this!! This site has been so helpful to keep me accountable for how many calories I'm actually eating. It's not so much of a guessing game for me now, I can see where I'm at for the day and adjust if I need to. Also, the support here is great too, because we all have our ups and downs. Good luck!!

Do 20 consecutive push-ups
Use 10 lb. weights for a whole workout
Run 1 mile without stopping
Get stronger physically and mentally

Conventional nutrition recommendations are for 60%+ of carbohydrates, anything but a "balanced diet".

Atkins is not a diet for "big meat eaters" (meaning "people who eat enormous portions or meat or a diet that is mostly protein"Wink, but I can see why a miscommunication took place, when the OP seems to have meant by it "almost vegetarian".

The argument is over semantics.

Peanuts
