Staying on low carb diet helps me curb cravings. I.e. the more carbs i eat during the day the more i crave. I eat majority of my carbs as fruit and vegetables, and whatever naturally occurs in dairy, but i still have to watch the totals. Also remember that we are all creatures of habit, it takes at least 3 weeks to change your habit if you stay away from a certain food for 3 weeks, you might not crave it any more.

I think that combining high fiber carbs such as wholegrain pasta and legumes with proteins helps to achieve satiety without having to take off carbs of your list, which is difficult for most people and I would argue not healthy.
Try to add high fiber foods to your recipes and meals and it makes life easier

you should be able to lose 14lb in 6 months easy I would be surprised if you didn't lose a LOT more good luck :)
