Has anyone here tried the fat fast? I read about it in Dr. Atkins book and I feel like it may apply to me. I'm just curious if you can get through it without starving. The book says it kills your hunger, but I'm a skeptic. Hunger is the reason I can't do any other diet, I can't stand feeling hungry!!! I'm wondering if I can make it for 3 days. **April

While I love fat, it doesn't love me. I don't think there's anything I could eat on the fat fast without getting diarrhea except macadamia nuts.

I've done the fat fast, but only as 1 day on then 2-3 reg food days. I didn't feel hungry on the days I did it. The fat does keep you fuller. I always feel more satisfied with more fat & protein. Carbs make me hungry. ~kelly

Well, I decided to give it a go. Today is my first day on the fat fast. I'm going to try and do it for 3 days to see if I can force this stall into some movement in my weight loss. So far, I haven't been hungry, even eating 2 oz portions of cream cheese every 3-3.5 hours. **April

I did the Fat Fast about 2 years ago. I was only able to be on it for three days. Psychologically, I thought I would die if I had to eat any more cream cheese. I don't remember feeling hungry. But, it did what it was supposed to do and helped to get my metabolism working again. Then I fell off the wagon a few months later! lol Good luck and let us know how you do. ** Goal 1- 20 pounds ****12/29/2016 ** Goal 2- get back down to wearing size 16 jeans ** Goal 3- normal blood pressure *****off meds on 12/31/2016 ** Goal 4- well below "One" Derland***3/1/17 ** Goal 5- the next 20 pounds down****3/5/17 ** Goal 6- 60 pounds down

Is diet coke or coffee acceptable on the fat fast? I haven't had either today and REALLY, REALLY want one. **April

The fat fast, per Dr. Atkins, is only for those who have not lost one ounce of weight or one centimeter in their measurements after MONTHS of perfect adherence to Induction. It is only to be done under a doctor's supervision. Those who do it, while they may lose a little weigth, always gain the weight back when food is reintroduced.
Do you fit those requirements?

I'm a firm believer in the Fat Fast and although my Dr doesn't agree with a LCHF lifestyle like mine, she also has let me know that all my blood work is in great condition. I am not overweight in any way (I was for a short time, when I started a LC lifestyle) and I still follow a LCHF way of eating. My body is very use to it and if I want to drop a couple pounds for the beach or whatever, the Fat Fast is a great method. I'd helped several friends jump on the LCHF bandwagon this way!!! You're definitely hungry at first, but by the time you're in a ketogenic state, that goes away. It's a beautiful thing! I stay in ketosis at most times generally, very rarely coming out of it.
