You looked really great...maybe they are just not used to seeing a new you! Don't let it get you down. I know years ago some friends of mine thought I was sick cause I lost a bunch of baby weight by the time my son was a year old...true I did look sick I didn't need to lose that much weight as I put some of it back on I didn't look so sick but as the years came and I put on too much for my body frame I was the one feeling Now I am going to lose again after 17 yrs of gaining and this time look healthier Smile

There are people out there who have all sorts of reasons for trying to sabotage your diet. Most of them are not even consciously aware of what they are doing. Ignore them.

I spent my career as a facialist. Once in a while a woman would come in for a facial and say something like, "I just can't imagine what happened! All of a sudden, over night, I aged ten years!!"
Usually it meant that they had recently had their hair colored but it was the wrong color for them regardless of what the stylist told them. Also could have meant that they had bought a new seasonal wardrobe in the wrong colors for them, or that they had fallen in love with a new color while in a place that had flourescent lighting (which changes the appearance of the colors.)
You're a handsome kind of guy -- it's entirely possible that people didn't notice you so much when you were heavier. It's also possible that your favorite colors look good on you when you have a bit of a tan in the summer.
My best advice is to go to a place like Macy's where they have a huge selection of all things clothes and a balanced lighting so that you can see for yourself how the different colors make your skin come alive or looked tired and washed out.

I am now at 195.6 pounds, and my goal is 180.

Pilsburry .. I think you look great! Same thing happened to my hubs. He actually started out at a similar starting weight to you (he is 6'1" ) and like you lost 60lbs very quickly, following P90x food/workouts. He got the same reaction. People asked me if he was sick. I think it is not that he looked sick but the rapid weight loss that got everyone's attention. He is now following a muscle building program to bulk up alittle. Congratulations to the new, healthier you!

Hi Pilsburry,
70 lbs in 4 months is a huge drop, you are my hero!

However, outside of rare cases like you, it's only sick people that drop weight so quickly. I think it's natural for people to question your health, plus your skin probably hasn't adapted yet to the new lower weight.

I expect they just need some time to adjust to your new look.

The main thing is you feel better in yourself and it really doesn't matter what other people think. You've got a hard job and probably its difficult to keep to any food plan while you are away from home, well one you

I suppose you had plumped cheeks before... that seems to look "healthy" in some people's eyes LOL

I agree with you. I think they are accustom to seeing you at a heavier weight. You do not look sick to me.

I am encouraged by you success. Thank You!!

I think you are very handsome! and people are just use to you looking overweight I had a neighbour guy who lost lots of weight went from 5'9 250 to 155 and he looked sick at first cause we weren’t use to seeing him thin and he looks fine to all of us now but not knowing what you looked like before I would say you look very healthy your face isn’t too thin keep up the good work Smile Not looking forward to all the negative comments yet to come as I am already getting negative opinions that I wont make it but this is for me not them so go me! yep I agree with most of the above commentors - that you look fine, and it's people just comparing you now with how you used to look. I got it too when I dropped from 286 to 170. People called me too skinny said hurtful/insulting things, but I was just barely in the 'healthy weight range'. It happens. You're not sick looking.

You're good bro, the others are right, folks just got used to you heavier so now that you're at a good normal weight, they havn't gotten used to it. I got the same damn thing but felt great! I could've still gone and lost another 10 lbs to get to my own personal goal. Don't sweat em.

I think you look like an average bloke, I agree with ingria sometimes its a fashion makeover that is needed. I know rugged men don't do moisturiser but especially if your diet isn't totally balanced (low fat or low carb) you might find thatfor a few months a good moisturiser might make your skin look younger close up or maybe a multivit tablet a day just incase some trace nutrients or vitamins are running a bit low, that can make a huge difference to skin tone.
I often think friends and family get jealous if you lose weight, my daughters friends say this stuff every time she loses weight and we worked out when she is her target weight she looks stunning in photos, when she is plump she makes her friends look skinny when she is next to them in photos! Your weight will shift round your body a bit in the 6 months after you reach target if you and only YOU think you might look better with another 5 lbs on after that time then it is up to YOU to decide to do something about it. Good luck with the last few pounds
