I was on Nutrisystem for four months and lost 40 pounds. Easiest diet in the world. All you have to do is eat their food and add in a bunch from the grocery store. I ended up paying over $400 a month to eat, much more than I spent on groceries before. My blood pressure and blood sugar went way down and my triglycerides are the lowest they've been in many years. So you have to weight the good against the bad - much healthier but much poorer. I quit because I could not stand to eat one more bite of the food - it began to all taste the same and it is like canned food. They have frozen, but I don't have a freezer. Now I am on my own and trying to at least maintain. It is very hard. As with any diet where you depend on certain foods, when you go off your body wants to gain all that weight back and you are fighting it all the time. I like Fatsecret because it can keep you motivated.

I also have been weaning off of FS. I have not lost and gain and lose a little every week, but I agree with you. NS is easy it helps you lose the weight, but it also gets you dependant on their food if you don't learn to get off of it. The money was high, and I am glad I used them to lose where I wanted to be. Now FS is helping me monitor calories and stay motivated. I still am eatting my NS left over food in between counting calories. The NS price between regular and store bought food, was just to high to continue.

Those are the problems when you eat packaged food-- you're stuck with whatever they provide for you, and you don't build new, healthier eating habits.
Go to the produce section. Buy lots of stuff. Eat it.

What Hoser said is very true... & For $400 you can buy a small freezer, and stock it with enough home made food ready to be simply reheated in a day for the next 2 if not 3 months! (though you would still need to add veggies etc etc)
Ready meals are good in their place. But their place isn't every day. And while they may work these plans are more about passing responsibility for your food to someone else rather than taking control of it and your habits.

Swollen ankles???
I have them too, and for me it is because of food intolerance. I can accidentally eat small amount of food I do not tolerate, and they will remain swollen for a few weeks.

Have you thought of joining an Atkins challenge? You can get as much or as little support there as you want to have. :)
