Losing a half pound per day is not realistic. If you were to lose that quickly, it would be a fast trip to the emergency room.
Quickly losing any more than 1 to 1.5 pounds per week will likely be water weight, and will be regained just as fast. Only the obese person under medical supervision can expect lose between 3 to 4 pounds per week, but that number decreases as they continue their weight loss program.
