I posted a question on if Weight Control oatmael was ok last night, but I think it got lost in the shuffle. It has 160 cal, 6 g. fiber but is not the "unsweetned, unflavored" oatmael as the abs book says. It is made with whole grain oats and has whey protein. Does anyone know if this would not be following the plan or not?

Honestly, I'm not sure. After my horrible experience with packet oatmeal, I switched to Old Fashioned rolled oats, with a little stevia or turminado. I sometimes put a little whey protein.

A couple of times I found worms in the oatmeal packets...that kinda turned me off of instant oatmeal. Old Fashioned oats have more fiber and keep me feeling satisfied longer.

I like it. It has little to no sugar, and I prefer the maple sugar taste to regular oats. My experience has been good, I like them and they work with the Abs Diet, just watch the sugar contents when you are buying packaged oatmeal. Oh also, I have been putting a scoop of vanilla whey protein in it (just add more water and it doesnt taste chalky or anything). Not sure how this would be with regular oats, probably ok if you added some fruit or Splenda. I think that the book doesnt include some of the more recent consumables (like Splenda and Weight Wactcher oatmeal etc.), the book is more or less setting you up with guidelines for a lifestyle change. As long as you understand why you can and can not eat certain things, you are having everything in moderation and watching those nutrition facts. the oatmeal is high in fiber and protein, and low in calories and sugars, I think it is ok.

Im not sure if it's okay but i can warn you i've tried the Weight control maple and brown sugar and it smells good at first but then after you put the water it smells horrible and it tastes even worse....So i'd much rather just use plain oatmeal with a little splash of milk or you can mix half oatmeal and half cottage cheese with a little stevia and almonds! it's yummy and it feels you up....

Started Last Friday - Down 7.3 Pounds!

Take small portions....it helps and once u get used to it, u dont miss eating more...cooking a small amount also helps so theres no leftovers..
