Hi. I just need to mention I don't care for the new menu structure FatSecret adopted over the past 24-48 hours. It's difficult to work with and they appear to have eliminated the "Add yesterday's..." and "Add Last Week's..." choices which made it easy to get multiple items added quickly. FatSecret, please return to the old menus or give us a choice of the new view or "classic" view. Thanks!

I agree. I absolutely hate this new "Enter Food" method. If it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here. Now I can't take foods from my Lunch and enter them quickly into my dinner menu. If I haven't been eating a food for dinner regularly, I have to do searches for each food all over again at dinner time. I have been with Fat Secret for the last 2.5 years, but I am looking at other diet websites now because this is really bad.

I think if we all post in our journals about the change and encorage others to do so we can get a take con how others who maybe haven't see the forum post may also be able to voice their opinion. We can direct them to the forum so they can post there as well. If the protest become big enough maybe we can get some results. I'm going to post to my journal now.

There should be the ability to:
1. Copy an entire meal from or to any other meal
2. Copy an entire meal to today
My Fitness Pal works this way and it makes it so easy and flexible

No need to "report abuse" as that is meant for a completely different reason. I have had issues with things on the site in the past and just used the "contact" link at the bottom of the page. All of my issues were quickly handled, even if they couldn't always achieve the outcome I wanted - they are very good at responding to your input.

IT NEVER GETS EASIER - YOU JUST GET BETTER.

Hi all,

Thanks for all your feedback on the changes to the food diary.

We’ve been listening (and acting) and can report a couple of things:

- We’ve added back the copy yesterday’s/last week’s meal functionality – you’ll see the link at the bottom of your recently eaten items when that meal is empty
- We’ve added back displaying the food brand when you save it
- You still have access to the ‘add multiple items’ link from the top orange box on your food diary page so for example you can find and switch a food from one meal type (say dinner) to another (like lunch)

Sorry we didn’t communicate the changes better and thanks for helping us figure it out.

We will be working to make further improvements to the food diary and other parts of the site and welcome your feedback and suggestions.

Thanks for your support,
The FatSecret team Smile

a bar code option would be great! i know the app has a bar code scanner funciton, but if they could link that to the website...type in the bar code # and match it to the item in the database

I haven't had too many issues with this, I usually eat the same things, so I just click on what I had and then click add and haven't had any issues yet. I have had luck so far searching too. I definitely haven't had enough issue with it to make me quit the site.
I haven't found the add multiple items thing either though, and that would be nice so I can add something I had for dinner last night to lunch today if I bring leftovers for lunch. That would be a nice to get back.
Goals for 2014:
Complete Couch to 5K- DONE!!!
Sign up for and complete a 5K- DONE!! 35 mins.
Plan at least 3 outings with the family that involve being active- 2 done

The folks at FatSecret wrote me twice and were very cordial. They said they've restored the capability to copy yesterday's and last week's meals. They also said there would be further modifications in the days and weeks ahead. I think they heard our cries and out pleas...

For those who couldn't find the "Add Multiple Items", it is up at the top under the "My Food Diary" with the date. It is the 4th item from the left on the second line in blue print. I would never have found it if Sherota hadn't told me.

It`s also grown on me and makes finding things a little easier.

Would still like to see the addition of Brunch/Mid-morning and Mid-Afternoon category (Most dietitians opt either for the 3meal/5meal method.) thus spreading the day into equally sized meals.

OH MY GOSH....I just really dislike this new food entry and I just was reading thru all these & saw that we still can use the old format...I don't know why or how I missed that...but thank you Josie for pointing that out !!!
Yes, I agree that another mid day snack category would be nice.
