I am looking for a diet buddy that understands the benefit behind the Abs Diet. I've already read the entire book, and read Men's Health frequently. I have read several books about health and have taken collage health classes. For about six months I was studying to become a fitness trainer. Unfortunately, it's not the lack of knowledge that got me here, but lack of motivation.
Anyways, If anyone is looking for a diet partner, I am willing to give some support.

Hey Mike,

I am also a fan of the abs diet newly transformed from the south beach diet. Not a far cry from concept. I think that you will fair much more so than I seeing as men lose far more quickly than women but I think it is a great concept and I know that for myself as soon as I put the carbs away, the bloating goes and the stomach flattens very dramatically.

I agree with what you are saying as far as the lack of motivation. I am working out regularily and unfortunatly eating the wrong foods regularily as well. Counter productive one might say... I know it is far after you were looking for a buddy, but I am here and looking for similar support if you are in!

HI,
My husband and I are starting the Abs Diet on Monday. After trying the Atkins and it pretty much grossed us out, all meat and no veggies and fruit I began researching every diet out there. We thought maybe WW., but all that points counting etc. just did not seem like something we could do for life. I read both the Abs books and I am getting ready to head out for the store for my Power Foods shopping.
My hubby is 51 and stopped smoking in April (YEAH, been a smoker since he was 16) and is now ready to loose the belly fat. I am 46 and ready to get in better shape for the last half of my life. We have a 6 year old daughter that is the energizer bunny and an 8 year old son that has autism and he is quite the athlete., so we are both in need of the energy, stamina and longevity needed to be great parents for as long as we can.
I look forward to sharing this experience with others.

Hi..like you my husband studied health in college but now we are in our 30s with 4 kids and we need motivation. The Abs diet seems to work great for both of us. (this is our 2nd time around) As a man my husband seems to lose twice the weight with 1/2 the work. We bought a bowflex and since we just started yesterday we'll keep you informed.

P.s.

Did my workout yesterday by dancing 45 mins with two small kids. My husband zero.

Hey there!!
I am on the Abs Diet too....and am loving it. I dont feel deprived, and I have gained more muscle, I can see my body starting to change. Sunday will be two weeks that I have been on the diet. Its more of a lifestyle change than a diet and thats why I like it. The only thing that I am bummed about is that it is mainly targeted for men. They dont have any women's version of the book. So, I have just been cutting back the portion sizes a little bit to fit my daily calorie intake. Any other advice?

I'm doing the Abs Diet for Women, I bought the book at barnes and noble. If they don't have it in your local bookstore, try amazon.com. I just finished my 6th week, lost 14 pounds, and I'm positive I gained a lot of muscle. I love it because it's so easy to stick to, and is a lifestyle change. I feel sooo much better eating this way! Less tired, my breathing is better, needless to say, I'm sticking with it!

I would not necessarily recommend 2000 calories. Use the calculator, to make sure. The RDI (recommend det daily intake) varies a LOT from person to person. If you feel that you want a faster weight loss ...
