Okay, here's the deal. I have drunk at least 2 44oz Dr Peppers daily for the past 2-3 years. Yesterday I went without as long as I could stand the caffeine headache, then cheated and drank a 12 oz. Since I'm reducing the amount drastically, I should still see some change, right? Has anyone else had to wean themselves off of caffeine? I tried crystal light, chocolate milk, water... but nothing satisfied me until I had that Dr. Pepper. It was gone in a flash, but it made me feel better.lol

If it's a straight caffeine addiction, you could try substituting green tea with caffeine. I have exactly one cup of coffee in the morning (no time for more!LOL) but if I skip it there's hell to pay. You could also resort to the No Doz tablets but that's not a great option.

Good idea. Thanks so much! I guess I'll find out soon enough if it is the caffeine thing or if it is just the cold, sweet, sugary liquid thing..lol

Are you drinking diet Dr Pepper or regular? If it is diet, I think you could allow yourself one can a day. This should not be torture for you. If you really want to be off caffine you need to make sure you drink lots of water. Dehydration can cause a headache too and that sucks! The headache will go away in a few days, at least mine did. Now I still have a diet soda, just one a day.

I love diet Dr. Pepper. Maybe having 1 a day could be a treat for you. And that way you're not dropping caffeine suddenly.

I think diet Dr Pepper tastes a lot like regualar, but that's me. I like all the new flavors they have like vanilla and berries and cream, yum yum!!

I did great this week! Only 2 small (12 oz) cans of regular Dr Pepper! The headaches are gone. I've been substituting chocolate milk, and that seems to work.

I agree with Lotus... I would suggest trying the diet, it's one of the best tasting "diet" sodas and you can have one a day with the caffeine to ween yourself down w/out the with drawl headaches, and believe me, I know about those! UGH. The amount of sugar, even in one regular is so high, that depending on what diet you are following, it can really mess up your loss. Good luck!Cool
