I lost over 60 pounds on NutriSystem and I have maintained my weight loss for almost 4 years. I am getting ready for a trip to Mexico in April so I am going for a new goal weight of 180 pounds. I just started with a new month on NutriSystem advanced and I hope to drop about 15 more pounds for my trip! I have lots of before and after photos of my 60 pound weight loss on my personal weight loss journal at www.healthygator.com

That's great! I looked into Nutrisystem and I've heard great things about it, but I don't think a lot people can afford it. Including me, that was my deterrent. Plus, I love to cook for myself and my family.

For someone who doesn't cook, though, or doesn't have time to, or doesn't have a family, it is a really great plan. I like that it is customizable and even has low-carb and allergy sensitive options. I'm glad it works for you. Smile

Love the food that loves you back.

Thanks! It averages about 250.00 to 275.00 a month with the auto delivery option. (10-15% off and free shipping) they also have specials around this time of year. I also love to cook, my wife and I are both very good cooks. We travel all over the world enjoying the local foods and cooking schools in places like Thailand, Italy and Spain. I found that with NutriSystem, I still have the option to "prepare" my food as if I am cooking it from scratch. Adding spices and blends (salt free of course) allows me to customize my food. It's one of the reasons I have been so successful on the program.

I spend about that much for a month of food for two of us, and I even buy organic whenever I can. When I looked on the website it said you have to buy food to go along with the pre-made meals and if I have to add that to a food budget, it's just too much. I'm glad you can make it work for you, though.

I returned the food, maybe I'm used to home-cooking or GOOD food, but it tastes awful...not worth a penny

But I'm glad it worked for you and good luck !!!

That's awesome that nutrisystem worked so well for you! I looked into doing it, but I'm allergic to soy, and that's the main ingredient in most of their foods, so it wouldn't work for me. The key is, you found something that worked for you, and it is a healthy way to lose weight. Congrats!

I just started on Nutrisystem after the first of the year, and I do pretty well with their lunches and dinners . . . but I'm struggling with the breakfast items. I can barely get their version of pastries to go down. Any suggestions?

I notice HeathyGator has only posted twice on this site, and both times advertising for his site. Assuming Nutrisystem really did work for him, his motivation for posting is obviously that he is making money off his web site.

I've thought about Nutrisystem, but the comments about the food being so high in salt and tasting so bad keep me away. Plus, most forms of soy are not good for you. Like Melobites, I like real food, not artificial cardboard stuff, so I don't think I would survive on this plan.

yes, you're right... it does look like spam but the posts are also almost 2 years old. The plan has been reformulated some since then. I've been on the plan since end of March of have lost 75 pounds so far. The high sodium comments are somewhat true, it is on the high side of the recomended intake but is not above it. Soy is not bad for you, especially for women.

As for the foods, well most of them are just bases to work with. You add your own things to them to personalize it to your tastes. You can also flex meals and eat "real" foods instead of them. But with the extra proteins/dairies I get throughout the day there isn't that much need to. It's quick and easy and tastes good (and I'm a foodie). I spend about 15-20 minutes making dinner at night to customize it.
