Hey guys!

I see a LOT of new people here, and I simply wanted to tell you welcome!

We're all here for the same reason, and we're all in the same boat.

I just wanted to spend a minute letting you guys know that you're in the right place if you're serious about losing some weight.

When I started this journey a couple of years ago, I weighed 360 lbs. In about 18 months I cut my weight in half. I was literally half the man I used to be. It CAN be done.

I am still here, first of all because I gained weight after surgery (had a lot of skin removed), and because of a changed mindset on weight loss. I am working hard to lose those last lbs again.

The other reason I am here is because I believe in paying it forward. FatSecret is a free service, and the best service in the world. Even when I'm "done" losing my weight again, I will be here to help and motivate and lend a hand (and ear) wherever it's necessary - and of course also to keep myself in check.

Losing weight is the single best thing I have ever done to myself. If you need to lose a significant amount of weight, you're in the right place. Just the fact that you're reading this tells me that you've taken the first and most important step: You made the decision.

Welcome aboard. There's a whole army of people here ready to support you on your journey. Let's make it a good one.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. It won't happen over night, but if you don't give up it WILL happen.

BigBear2015, Start your day out with breakfast with protein, it really helps. It doesn't have to be a big breakfast. Smoothies are a great idea. I eat oatmeal with scramble or poached eggs sometimes ...

I started yesterday to drink shakes and water and am determined to stick to it. I've been told to wait for new year but I thought that if I wait till then I'd just look for excuses to start later ...

Shortage in RDI
OH WOW, I never did the ideal weight calculator on that site, just used the rdi calculator. It says I should be between 107 and 145 and at 59 years old I hope i never get down to 107 !! However FS ...
