barcode scanner

I could'nt find the barcode scanner option on my Blackberry 9300. Anyone knows what should have happened?

Hi, I have a samsung galaxy and just downloaded the android fatscret calorie counter app yesterday. I wanted to scan in some food items this morning. I hit the scan bar code icon and it said to place the red line across the bar code and that's as far as I could get. I can't find any directions on using this feature. Help anyone? Thanks, skm

I used the menu icon to activate the scanning function on my motorola smartphone.

ladybug - on your screen, you should have seen a window with the red line through it. you need to hold the phone so that the bardcode you want to scan takes up just about the entire window, like you were taking a picture of it. The red line should cross from one end of the barcode to the other, with just a little extra on each side. You need to be sure there is plenty of light (not dark shadows from hand/phone). If you are holding it properly, just hold it still for a couple seconds and it should focus and scan the barcode.

I use it on my iphone and it works fine. I just center the red bar on the code then tap the screen - if you don't have a touch screen, I would guess you would use whatever side button you might have that would take a picture. Then it pulled up the information automatically. I tried this on something that wasn't found on a regular food search and it came right up.

Same here. I have the same problem. I just downloaded the app but when I go to scan it just continuously shows the yellow dots but never actually scans.
