I am having a hard time getting protein in throughout the day. I can get some in during dinner, but I eat a salad for lunch. Any tips on QUICK snack ideas that have a lot of protein in them (not a ton of calories). Thansk!
If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.-George W Patton

Cook a lot of boneless skinless chicken breast before hand, put it in tupperware, and toss it in with your salad. It's pure protein.

I struggle with the same problem....not sure how you feel about eggs, but I've started boiling half dozen eggs at the start of each week and I try to eat one as a snack every day or so (though, I don't always eat the yoke). It's easy, great source of protein and relatively low calorie.

Here are a few high protein food items which won't kill your RDI
1. Chobani Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt - 18g protein, 100 calories.
2. Low fat Cottage Cheese - 13-14g protein, 90-100 calories per serving on average.
3.Whey protein - 18-20g protein, 100-130 calories per serving on average.
Mix the cottage cheese or yogurt with some fruit for a quick snack. Whey protein comes in many different flavors and can be mixed with water, soymilk, or any liquid of your choice.

I mix a scoop of chocolate Whey Protein with a 1/2 cup of Fage Greek Yogurt. For me that's 195 calories for 35.5g of protein. And there are some lower calorie protein mixes if that's too high calorie for you. Good luck with whatever you choose!

A 100 calorie pack of Emerald Natural Almonds in your salad will give you 4g of protein.

A tablespoon of Chia seeds in some Chobani yogurt is pretty good.

For a grain, quinoa is awesome for protein..but beware, it is unfortunately also pretty high in calories. Along the ideas above on the chicken breast on the salad, I make up a pound of shrimp at time in whatever flavor seasoning I want, then freeze it. Then, it's ready to go and thawed out on my salad by lunch time.

I really like the chocolate Muscle Milk light 100 calorie drink. 15 grams of protein, 100 calories, 2.5g of fat, 5g carbs (0 sugars), and a ton of other nutrients. The taste is pretty good (smooth and creamy) if it's cold.

Great ideas on here. I use protein shakes throughout the day, eat chicken breast, fish (can of tuna with a little mayo and pepper; BAM!), and beef for my protein. Cheese has some protein as well if that fits into your food intake plan.

Turkey roll ups. Take a slice of turkey, spread a very thin layer of cream cheese, add green onions and red bell pepper. Yum!

Thanks for all the tips. Like I said I need QUICK. I don't have a lot of time to prepare meals. I think I might try some protein shakes and hard boiled eggs. I definetly need to exchange more protein for the processed "good for you" snacks I have been eating.

When I'm on the road and I need a protein boost.. I grab a bag of beef jerky.. for 1.25 ounces you get 100 calories, 18g of protein and only only 1 gram of fat at 4g carbs.. It's not the best choice if you're watching sodium.. but it is readily available at any convenience store.. (grab a water while your there...)

I second the protein powder in 1/2 cup of plain yogurt. Easiest way for me to get protein since I don't like eating a lot of meat.
