Feeling a bit cynical at this stage on AtkinsConfused
Up to this point,I have been adding comments and helpful suggestions to others that I feel struggled through some of the same setbacks that I had experienced.I'm feeling like I need to hear some of that advice and support that I have been giving.Until today,I have been accepting of my progress and very patient, with my weight loss, all though slow.I just feel like I should be losing more...not sure why I'm not.I'm very honest with my food entries,so If anyone has any advice, please feel free to comment.BTW I am at 35nc,but usually hover anywhere between 25-30nc Thanks

You are getting close to your goal weight and it is harder to lose that last little bit. It is normal for your weight loss to slow down. You might want to search the forum topics for losing that last ten pounds.

I agree. You have only really been losing for the last month and you ARE pretty close to your goal weight. Are you drinking plenty of water? Are you exercising at all? Start by making three goals for yourself. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Start getting some kind of exercise every day...even if it is just a few walks around the block. If you are already exercising...add 30 minutes to whatever you are doing now. And lastly, commit to recording every single bite or drink that passes your lips. You may have carb creep and not realize it. As just a side note, I feel that weighing food is a lot more accurate than measuring. I was measuring at first and once I started weighing, I realised that I was eating more than I thought. Keep the faith. You have been doing good so far. If you stay the course, you will reach your goal!

Truth is though, your weight loss is right where it should be! 1 lb a week is AWESOME! Your diet looks awesome too for OWL and you're doing it right. If you're in a hurry then it's simple, you can lower your carbs or exercise more. If you lowered your carbs just one or two days per week you might see an increase. If you set a goal of exercising off an extra 250 calories per day you'd increase your losses by half a pound. Burn an extra 500 calories per day and you'd lose an extra pound per week. Keep in mind that alcohol can slow or stall weight losses too. Be encouraged! You're doing great!

Looking over your journal entries, I also think that you are doing an awesome job! I am so where you are, when we get closer to goal weight it is a bit harder to take off. Hang in there, you will reach your goal! You are doing an amazing job!
If you have the right mindset then nothing can stop you from reaching your goals! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!

The last 10 pounds are definitely the hardest. I looked over your food journal, I think I have some ideas for you.

I see that you are eating high fat, low carb -- this is good, but not for long term. Your body has reached a plateau, you need to trick it. So what you should do..
Example
Week 1
Monday through Friday -- eat low carb and high fats(no salad dressings, and no fruits) the only carb you should eat are from rice cakes and this is only if you've worked out that day. Fats should come from olive and coconut oils, chicken legs thighs or breasts, skim cheese, etc.
Then on sat and sun -- eat moderate fats with moderate carbs. Moderate carbs meaning one serving of low carb fruit like berries, and a serving of brown rice. During this time stick to leaner meats like fish and chicken breasts, etc.

Then for week 2 and 3..
Mon-Tue -- again, low carb / high fat
Wed -- Moderate carb / moderate fat
Thur-Sat -- Low carb / high fat
Sunday -- high carb / low fat During this day, steam your veggies, eat 1-2 servings of fruit, 1 serving of brown rice with lunch, and one serving of yams or sweet potato with dinner.

Another thing you should try is eating more protein. Especially during this 3 week period, you need .8-1.1% of your body weight. So aim for at least 130g per day. Also, stay away from prepacked foods. Like granola, sausage patties etc. Make your own patties with ground chicken, Italian seasoning, and cinnamon! Yum!

Wow,thank you all!You have confirmed what I had been thinking, just needed the vote of confidence!I have never made it this far on Atkins, and really felt at a crossroads...now what? So,thank you for steering me straight!BTW,thanks for taking the time to look at my food calendar, thought this might hold some clues as to why weight was slow, but by the comments I didn't do so bad.I thought maybe the avocado was creating a problem,I eat alot of them.

Swollen ankles???
Yes I get this. The main reasons tend to be sodium intake, lack of water, and hormones. I see from your food log that most days you are over 3000 and somethimes up to 5000mg in sodium. "They" ...
