My suggestion is to look at the menus online and see if they have the nutritional information available. Decide what you are going to eat before you go, when you can. Avoid the starches, ask for extra veggies instead. Avoid high calorie cheesy sauces, creamy soups, and high calorie drinks. Drink plenty of water as most places use way too much salt and you will retain fluid - which will show up in the morning. Know your trigger foods and avoid those.

I ate at Logans yesterday. It's kind of like an Outback or something. I got the grilled shrimp appetizer and a sweet potato with cinamon and butter. Delicious!

What NCNOLE said. Many, many chains post their nutritional information online - it's a great way to window shop in advance.
I also like to start with a salad first, dressing on the side - that way I am more likely to eat less of a higher-calorie main course.

I ate at Outback Friday night. I had a 6 oz Outback Special sirloin, green beans, a plain sweet potato and plain iced tea with lemon. My totals were: 421 calories, 41.04g protein, 33.16g carbs and 16.06g fat. Everything had a lot of flavor and I left feeling very satisfied! I didn't even miss their (yummy!) bread and butter.

I noticed you just started Atkins recently...my opinion, a sweet potato would NOT be a good choice for you at all! Most restauants will substitute steamed veggies (avoid carrots) or even a small side salad (avoid croutons, carrots, have dressing on the side--oil/vinegar or blue cheese are usually OK) instead of the potato or rice.
Stick with things like steak, broiled sea food, baked chicken, etc...nothing with breading. Ask that bread not be served at the table if it's too tempting. Just basic things that you might eat at home. Keep it simple. After all, going out should be about having fun with the company that you're with...not mostly focusing on the food that you eat.

weigh in
Good luck! I weigh in every day which has to stop. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing the scale drop so much in a week-that is because of water weight I am sure.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
You can use shakes for a few days. I have used the Atkins shakes and they are very good tasting. Soups are good though as stated above you may have to puree them. You could puree or blend cottage cheese ...

Even though fat doesn't count in Atkins, it can cause you to gain or not lose weight if you consume too much. Be careful of over eating this nutrient. ie: cream, cream cheese.
