So my struggle is I love the Atkin's diet but I think I want to try a portion control approach versus cutting out carbs. However I want to keep Atkins as my diet choice because I do want to be low carbv focused. Can anyone give me tips because I have found my main issue is that I do good ALL day and then blow it at night.

Personally, I have the same night time snacking issues. I try to work out (treadmill, bike, shovel snow) anything to keep my mind off of food. If I sit on the couch.... my will power dwindles fast. After a workout, I am usually good for quite a while before craving food again, and even if you do eat something a little bad at this point...... your workout has those calories covered ! WIN / WIN.... you get housework/or workout done, and you get to snack !

Good luck, whichever diet you chose to follow.

One reason many people do good all day and then blow it at night is because they are not eating enough during their scheduled meals. Figure out how many calories you are actually eating, including all these snacks. Then add it to your meals and don't snack.

If you are eating out of boredom you need to find yourself an evening activity that doesn't bore you so much you find eating stuff and making yourself fat to be an attractive alternative. If television doesn't occupy your mind, read a book. If your hands get restless, take up needlecrafts.

jwill77nc2 is correct. Also, if there is NO asterisk (*) after the food or exercise then that number will not be counted in the Challenges and Contests and Mini Challenges this program offers.
