Three months ago, I lost quickly (5 pounds) using these numbers:

Cal 1895 Carb 34,6 Protein 78,5 Fat 162

Then I got lazy, thought : wow, this IS easy, stopped weighing myself. I had gained everything back in about a week and a half with these numbers:

Cal 1841 Carb 48 Protein 82 Fat 156

Then I thought the carbs were at fault. Have been under 10-15 ever since. Nope, no results. So, could be the protein - but I don't think so, I've been averaging 109 in the past weeks.

I'm really confused. First question : how can I lose so quickly with the numbers posted above? Because the only real difference is in the carbs, like I said, I reduced my carbs dramatically. No results. Wow.

I do take sweeteners (about 1 a day, 3 on weekends), but that didn't change a thing when I lost all that weight.

Maybe your body is telling you (as I did last time you posted) that you don't need to lose more weight? Smile

Put on muscle, keep your current intake. Up the protein to about 125.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

I do weight training 6 times a week, and cardio 3 times a week. I like exercicing for longer periods of time, but not too strenuously.

I was able to go down to 126 very quickly with those funky numbers - for me, that is proof enough that it can be done. I'm just not sure how I did it. Hense, the post.

Protein could be my Achilles heel.

While this is probably not the answer, I can gain or lose 5 pounds in 48 hours with no change in calorie intake. (I don't do carbs).I think you need to keep more accurate records (daily food intake, daily exercise and weekly weigh in). It may help you analize exactly your problem. I do note that the 1900 calorie daily intake is on the high side (for calorie counters). I take in 1800 (74" 200 lbs) and am happy to lose 1/2 pound per week.
Good luck in losing.

Thanks Glaun - good to know I'm not alone in zigzaging on the scale. Oh well.
