I am wanting to start Atkins but there are so many different books and apps. Also how do I track on here. Would love some friends and some advice about Atkins. Thanks!

My best advice would just to make a choice of which version you want to follow and stick to it. Once you make your choice just follow it strictly.
What is you want to track? Food or weight? When you are in the area called "My fatsecret" (see top of green border) there are little links to the right that says "enter food" or "weigh in now"
For atkins it is also useful to adjust your food dairy to show net carbs.
You do that by clicking "myaccount" and scrolling to the bottom and picking what you want your food diary to show.
Good luck.
Many people here who will support and help you

Thank you very much! I greatly appreciate it. I was going to try and use another site but it did not track net carbs.

Liv001 you mentioned "versions". I'm planning on starting Atkins but am not sure how to get started. I need to know like exactly what to do. Should I buy a book or something? How did you figure out what to do.
Babycakes73 - did you find some good info?

Werkit,
If you're starting Atkins, you can go to the Atkins website and it will detail exactly how the program works (different phases, what to eat, etc). Then you can just keep track of your net carbs and exercise here.
Cheers!

I use the 2002 version. So I used the information here to get started
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/faq.php?faq=atkins_faq
I also bought Dr Atkins book The New Diet Revolution. I am partial to that book because Dr. Atkins was involved with it personally. Anything written after 2003 is by a commercial company. They are pretty good but they do have to balance business interest with the diet as you can see if you visit their cite.
But following it important.

Yes I get this. The main reasons tend to be sodium intake, lack of water, and hormones. I see from your food log that most days you are over 3000 and somethimes up to 5000mg in sodium. "They" ...
