Hello everyone
Does everyone buy the Jenny Craig food, or do you make your own, thank you.Question

I start out by using just their food. But once I hit a goal weight or get sick of the food I will start making my own version of their food. Plus it is so much more affordable to make your own. My problem is I try to make 5 frozen dinners for the week on Sunday and they end up with freezer burn. So I only make 2 days at a time.

I did only JC food for the first three weeks or so, then I bought my own snacks and breakfast- I did this for about 2 weeks, I then slowly bought less and less JC food- I haven't bought anything since before Christmas. I HAVE weighed in every week since I started- talking to my counselor, and the accountability help me A LOT! I have lost over 70 pounds since mid July!! I should reach my goal this weekend- but I will still weigh in at JC as long as they let me! Good Luck!

I do continue to buy JC food every week, but I dont buy as much as I did when I first started the program. I used to spend 100-120/week now it runs me about 50-60/week.. and its mainly food for my 5 days work week. I do make my own meals at home and/or eat out.. Being on JC program I have learned alot about portion control knowing u can eat but not exactly what I call "Texas Size Portions" lol and now know exactly how much I can eat and what is the best healthy choice I can have.. In the long run Healthy is the way to be! Good Luck!

Check your grocery ads for sales on Smart Ones and Healthy Choice. They're great when you're in a hurry! I've been looking up a lot of low calorie slow cooker meals (single mom working full time)

I've been buying chicken breast (frozen or fresh when on sale and then freezing the breasts in different marinades), brown rice, frozen veggies, frozen fruit, yogurt, low fat or non fat cottage cheese, lots of produce. If you cut all the junk from your grocery list, you can afford to eat healthy...I'm figuring that out real fast! Read the serving sizes on the back and stick to that. Also, when I cook dinner, I make my plate, make my daughter's plate and then I immediately put the left overs AWAY. If you have kids, DON'T TOUCH THEIR PLATES! I've been trying really hard not to nibble off my daughter's plate, b/c all parents do

Some of us realize it, some don't. You're not doing anyone any favors by living small. Embrace these truths and step up...the world is waiting."

So so true! I have been trying so hard to serve my boys the portions that they will finish so that there are no leftovers for me to nibble on. On the days that i do not have my boys Sad I seem to eat worse. Not sure why, still trying to figure that out.

I had a healthy choice for lunch today and it was great and only 280 cal. So breakfast and dinners I cook and lunch on weekdays I bring frozen if I do not cook enough the night before. I am REALLY trying to avoid going out for lunch on weekdays.
