Hello everyone! I tried Atkins for two years and it has done wonders for me but I also deprived myself of a lot of good food like fruits. I decided to go on Weight Watchers this past Monday and I can't believe all that I am EATING. In the Atkins diet, I would be a lot of caloric, non carb foods but I would eat them only within the three meals. With these points now, I need to eat meals plus snacks and while I am happy I can do so, I am scared that this new way of eating can actually make me LOSE weight. I will definitely see, eventually but I can't help but to be afraid of the outcome. Anyone else in this same predicament, or can shed some thoughts?

I can share my experience...in transitioning be careful to select heathful carbs and keep your sugars low. Fruit, while healthy is still sugar as is pasta, rice and potatoes. So, while you can definitely have them on WW be careful. Also, your body will have to transition from fat buring to carb burning and you may experience water weight. I'm just sharing so that if it happens you don't freak out. If you read the maintenance program for Atkins it is very similar to WW now. Just go easy as your body will need to adjust--our bodies can't always turn on a dime.
Hope this helps

I have started weight watchers recently, first week lost about 3 pounds. I felt hungry so i came up with a great salad recipe, shared at WW. (7 Points) - 1 Smart One - Cheese Enchilada with spanish rice( do not over cook) 2 to 2 1/2 cups shredded lettuce and 1/4 to 1/2 cup red bell pepper. After cooking Enchilada dinner (let cool abit) cut into very small pieces and mix the rice with the enchilada, dump on top of the finely shredded lettuce, add the small diced red bell pepper and mix throughly till most lettuce is covered with the cheese, you can also add diced green onions 1/4 to 1/2 cup. EAT TILL YOUR FULL .. VERY YUMMMMY!!! Like eating a big plate of mexican food (Remember) the lettuce and bell pepper, & onion are 0 points. I eat this for dinner or lunch when ever very hungry! Please let me know if you fall in love with this salad? This shows my starting weight as 203 wrong, I started at 212.4 last week, today 210Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Starting Weight 203.8

I think what would worry me about going from Atkins to WW is going from nutrient dense foods.....that makes me feel satisfied and full, to "diet" food that makes me not feel full and makes me crave other things and then I binge. It worries me the WW promotes fake food.....low fat cheese....and low fat treats. I guess Atkins also promotes fake food but I stay away from all the bars and shakes. I always felt like I was not getting enough on WW and on atkins I have to remind myself to eat, I hardly ever have craving. I don't think that I could ever go back but not everyone is as carb addicted as I am.

Best wishes!

i have never been on atkins, but i have tried southbeach even taken alli pills. i was tired of doing diets where i had to cut carbs or fat so i joined ww. This is my second time on ww, my first time i took the classes and this time i am doing it online. however, what i realized is they say you can eat what you want, but if it is starchy or fried you will lose very little (oz)appose to eating the healthy foods and losing (lbs). Good Luck... if you are online and need more support and looking for another friend look me up = chrissandra23234 (chrissandra) richmond
