Help and Motivation Needed

Ok, here goes.

I need someone, or multiple someones, who is willing to help me vent, offer me advice, encourage me when I feel like giving in/up.

I am married but due to us both being in the Navy we are stationed 1500 miles apart. I know that I suffer from depression and have a tendency to want to eat when I am depressed (this has now become painting and watching tv - which I guess is an improvement). I have mandated pt but I need more than that but due to my weight gain since I have been in, the problems with my knees have only become worse and more apparent.

I am doing the WeightWatchers thing which looks like it'll be good for me. But I tell ya, quitting soda when I work nights is hard on me. I can also tell that I haven't been really hungry the last few days and while I go over my points, it's only by 4 at the most. And yes, I've also been doing the 'need-to-eat-b/c-if-I-don't-then-I'm-gonna-starve-at-an-inconvenient-hr-later' thing which hasn't been helping.

Any help would be nice.

1200 calories diet, or have I miscalculated badly?
I find this whole weight loss thing discouraging, seeing as everywhere I look, people say that 1200-1400 calories is way too low. It effects metabolism, etcetera. Do I really need to eat more to lose more ...

This is a good starting point, but you really need an exercise plan to maximize the results. Even if it is just walking. Get moving!
