My name is Traci and I found this app while playing on my phone because I couldn't sleep. I got on the scale this morning and couldn't believe that I weigh 273 pounds. That's why I can't sleep...wondering what I need to do to change my life so I can be healthy and live. This site is everything I need- support, buddies, recipes and most importantlyN challenges, I am nervous but look forward to a lifetime of health!

Welcome to Traci
Take is slowly, think lifestyle not diet
Eat healthy in a calorie deficit, move/exercise regularly.
Drink water, keep it simple
Use the app it works
All the best

Spacey47 is right. One step at a time, start with removing some things from your diet you know are full of calories and empty of nutrition, soda is a good example. Any movement is better than no movement. And don't beat yourself up. Just do the best that you can at the time, and keep moving forward. It really works and you will feel so much better.

Traci if you are doing Atkins I recommend following the rules for the diet. The rules are written in such a way that if you follow them it will happen.
All the people here that are doing Atkins are friendly and willing to help.
Just hang in there.
Congratulations with starting

Welcome you guys! I had a similar moment a couple years ago. I stepped on the scale and was 293.2!!!! So I downloaded this app and started counting my calories. I was able to drop 40 pounds! It really works!
Quitting is NOT an option!

Hello All,
Thank you soooooo much for your words of advice and encouragement. The first reply to my post said to think of this as a lifestyle change and not diet. That must be the key to a lifetime of success. Again, thank you!!

Hello
Hello finding what works and is sustainable for you is key. Also burning more calories then what we consume is part of the equation too. This journey is a marathon and not a sprint. Good luck

Canned whipped cream...just a squirt if you really crave the real deal. Avoid artificial anything.
