Hi everyone. I've just joined in the hope to lose those pounds that crept so slowly on that at first I paid no attention to them and became used to them until now they are a burden in my life. So as of today, I'm going to fight to lose each and everyone of them pounds. I would value all your tips, suggestions and weight loss tips and I hope to share mine with you

I have no tips or suggestions, I just wanted to say you are not on your own, lets put them pounds back where they belong.

My tip is to cut the carbs out of your diet but you don't have to be insane about it. When I gain weight it's mostly belly fat and when I'm doing a Biggest Loser contest (like I am now) I cap my net carbs at 150g a day (shoot for 100g) for the first half and 100g a day for the second half.
Pain is a by-product of a good time.

While 150 grams of carbs is far lower than most people eat, in the grand scheme of things is is not really "low". It is moderate and sensible.

I have so been where you are. Well in many ways I am still there. fighting with my declining metabolism.
I think I am winning. At least I am partially successful.
It is good that you have taken that decision

Thanks folks, it's day 5 for me, I'm trying the calorie counting and trying for 1200 and 1300 per day (I hope this is low enough, I don't want to go too low that it's impossible to maintain) and keeping the carbs and fat low and so far so good. I've also incorporated 3 workouts this week and I'm feeling motivated and in control. I just hope I can maintain this over the weekend which is always my downfall. I have a nasty habit of undoing all my good work once the weekend comes, it's like I'm rewarding myself 'cause it's the 'end of the week'

I'm eating 1200 on average and I've taken on the 'junk food challenge' on here which means I've not eaten any refined sugar, anything with white flour, anything that's processed. long may it last. thanks for your imput, it's great to have support

Gonna give this a try. With hard work, determination and God's blessings I'll shed these 20 lbs to reach my goal weight of 165 by mid August before I go back to school . Wish me luck! :d

Hello
Hello finding what works and is sustainable for you is key. Also burning more calories then what we consume is part of the equation too. This journey is a marathon and not a sprint. Good luck
