tea make you hungry

I drank 32 ounces of unsweetened tea, and now my stomach is eating itself... does anyone else get REALLY hungry when drinking tea? I feel like I could eat a horse, and I just finished my lunch.

That's one of the reasons that I gave up caffeine - caffeine can cause your blood sugar to drop and then you start getting hungry.

There seems to be a lot of contradictory evidence out there on the impact of caffeine- I've read that until you have other health issues, caffeine can actually contribute to your weightloss plan by stimulating your metabolism. Some say it stimulates appetite while other say it acts as a short-term depressant. I think it probably gets back to each individual- if you regularly consume caffeine without the hunger, you might just be having a hungry day. I definitely get those! Or the caffeine might actually be to blame. I would log your intake of caffeine and your hunger levels and see if there is a persistent connection. I'll occassionally have a diet mountain dew or iced coffee in the afternoon and haven't noticed any impact on my appetite when I do.

Here on the rig we have hot tea available 24/7 of all different kinds and I've been drinking it a fair amount lately. And like you, I do feel more hungry soon afterwards.

Odd, never heard or had that happen. Been drinking tea, not coffee, all my life. Maybe I just hadn't noticed it. Anywho, I don't think caffeine really impacts your diet but the sugar or sugar substitutes consumed with it. Your body has the same reaction which is producing insulin.

I always notice the hunger after tea! Same goes for when I drink diet soda. It almost feels like my blood pressure is low...I get sort of jittery, really hungry...but then I'll lose weight as long as I don't go and consume 5,000 calories after drinking it.

I've been drinking hot tea lately, and I like to think that is helping me to ease the morning anxiety that makes me run to grab something to eat.
I think my problem is not eating when I am hungry, my problem is more when I eat when I am anxious, and knowing that I will have a cup of tea instead of a muffin (or two), is a relief.

I've the same situation exactly. I'm fine and not hungry till I drink a cup of tea, then I get very hungry!! I think it's something else than caffeine, as I frink coffee but it doesn't make the same feeling

Opposite for me - hot tea, hot water with lemon, hot coffee, hot broth, - these are all appetite suppressants for me.

I'm not losing WEIGHT. I'm converting FAT to MUSCLE to be healthier.

I drink tea or hot squash when I'm hungry to get rid of hunger pangs.

Still keeping to my 26" jeans, but they are too tight for comfort. too many tasty things in the US, and over Xmas.

If the culprit is caffeine, there are many teas available that are caffeine free.

Also try taking a couple little no fat, lo cal cookies with the tea, to make you feel as though you've had a snack.

If you live in the US there are loads of these available, also no fat cake, etc. (I believe it was Sarah Lee, but maybe I'm behind the times).

YES ! actually i was searching if tea makes anyone hungry , cuz i feel so hungry after drinking some tea , and i've been on a diet , i didn't lose but 2 kg in a week or something but i didn't drink tea for like 5 days and i'm now 59 kg after i was 62 kg and i just drank some tea and i felt so hungry afterwards , so i thought maybe tea what makes me eat more ! and after u guys said the same happened to u too , i'll quit drinking tea Very Happy
