I am seriously losing motivation. I go on holiday in 6 weeks and still have 16 lb to lose. Does anyone think that is achievable as it sounds like such a lot to me that I am starting to think why bother. Any tips / motivation would be greatly appreciated (ps I am 151lb and 5ft 7inch) x

yes. that is too much. the most you can lose in any given week is 2 lbs. you should still do it though, so when the next holiday rolls around you will be ready!

Sounds like you are about my dimensions (me: 5'7"/153 lbs). I tend to agree with Asagohan though, this is quite a bit of poundage in a relatively short period of time. I have given myself until mid-December to lose about "18 lbs". You can however just hit the ground running and challenge yourself to lose as much as possible between now and then (and you'll be glad you did), and, if your dedicated, at 2 lbs a week, that's 12 lbs! That would still be a great achievement (and 10-12 lbs DOES show)! Get motivated and give it a shot - nothing like lookin' good for a vacation! One thing I DO know, you're just going to beat yourself up if you DON'T do anything, or maybe even gain MORE weight in the interim. Just get started "today" and good luck Wink

Thank you to you both. I agree, 12 lb would be wonderful and I will kick myself if I get on holiday without losing the weight. Tomorrow is a new day and I am going to try really hard for the next 6 weeks x

It's not easy losing 2 pounds each week. You will have to exercise and walk a lot 6 times a week and have a low calorie diet. if you eat only healthy food like vegetables, fruit and a little chicken, fish, cheese and yogurt you can eat more and be full. It's not the same if you eat a slice of pizza or 2 pounds of vegetables and fruit. You can look up my diet calendar, that is how i lost 24lbs since july. This diet is only for the ones with great self control. I don't even get hungry since i eat so much low calorie products.

2 pounds/wk is feasible and it needs a calorie deficit of about 7/8000 calories a week so about 1000 per day. As already mentioned you will need a combination of more exercise (about 3/400 extra calories burnt per day) and calorie control. The food diary in my experience is an essential tool and really makes a difference I would suggest you to start using it
