Will i ever reach goal?

I just cant seem to get to goal! I'll lose 5 then stall, lose another 2 then stall, get fustrated and binge. How do I stop this cycle? I have all the information I need, I just can't seem to get passed the plateaus!

Hey Jackie - I do hope you see this! I poked around on your profile and was a bit confused... are you counting calories? doing weight watchers? following low carb? or some combo of each?

It doesn't matter to me which you are doing...but consistency is the key! I'm not sure how long your stalls are...or what you are expecting, but slow downs and brief plateaus are VERY COMMON no matter which way or plan you are following.

Wrap your mind around YOUR PLAN. Set up your calendar based on YOUR schedule to include your exercise/activities and treat them just like you would a dr.'s appt! Make sure you attend. Look at the calendar the night before and set your self up for success for tomorrow! be prepared, and ready w/ the appropriate foods in the house to follow your plan!

Just remember... Those that GIVE UP...FAIL 100% of the time!

YOU can do this, you may need to explore the right way of eating for your body and your metabolism, but YOU CAN do this! Keep reaching out and asking questions here... I threw you a buddy request, too!

thanks for the replies! js i am always changing my plan. right now i am counting calories. ww and calorie counting seem to be the best as you can still eat "normal" if ya know what i mean!

I know it's extremely frustrating, but stick with it. I had thought a plateau was just that and you were stuck, but when I hit one, I stuck with it, if nothing else, just to avoid gaining the weight back. After several weeks I did drop some more weight, then hit another plateau, then I lost again.

I don't know why it happened. I didn't have any major dietary or exercise changes at those times, it just did. But I stuck with it and started dropping again.

Good luck- And i agree that trying to eat "normal," just not so damn much of it (in my case) is a good way to go.

thanks nops! i am starting to think i need to stop working out so hard. i am a runner and i have been running and running ever since the same time ive been trying to lose! after i quit smoking! i am going to scale back and see what happens!

This is a good starting point, but you really need an exercise plan to maximize the results. Even if it is just walking. Get moving!
