Am I the oldest dieter here? 51 with 100 plus pounds to lose...
I'm 56 and been losing and gaining the same 10 lbs for years! Not fun! I can't seem to record anything I do and I don't even have a job! Did get an interview yesterday I lost a few lbs hiking a lot last week while hunting. almost got my elk but it got away! Lots of hiking up and down hills carrying a pack and gun did help! But I love to bake bread and eat it of course. I prepare foods from scratch mostly and eat less than ever. Still a struggle to lose and need to lose 35 lbs.

No, you're not alone. I'm 61 yr old and need to lose 70 pounds.
I'm on a ton of meds for cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, and most recently, Type II Diabetes. I was dx as diabetic this past April and am taking a pill every day.
I had lost 15 pounds, but now have put 2 pounds back on and can't seem to get motivated. I'm a late night sneaky eater after hubby goes to bed and I'm up watching TV

Hello All! I am soon to be 52 and have lost 40 pounds since February 14th. Still have another 70 to go. I have been attending Weight Watcher meetings. I really need the accountability of someone else seeing the number on the scale.
I am looking for a weight loss buddy if anyone is interested.
Thanks and have a great day!

I'm 52, been on this site for 5 years. I've kept off 70 of the 80 pounds I lost. It's a daily battle, but I think I will eventually meet my goal. I have found that the weeks I actually stick to a workout schedule, and CAN SLEEP (!), I lose more. That, and consciously drinking more water. Good luck to you!

Ladies of all ages... Way back in 1977 I lost 91 lbs. over a period of one year. When WW said "you've reach goal" I guess that was my permission to eat all I wanted. Take it slow and easy and DO remember your maintenance program.
Cut to chase:
I'm 70 years of age now and I have 35 lbs. to lose.
My daughter is my inspiration right now. She returned to WW and lost 9 lbs. in two weeks.

59 years old - lost 33 lbs in 2 months after reading Wheat Belly and watching Gary Taubes on YouTube. It is actually pretty easy. Give up sugary drinks, all wheat products, potatoes, other grains and the weight disappears. You do need to get through that first few weeks of feeling like you are missing something, but if you are motivated it is worth it. This calorie counting and exercise recording business is a crock. Fat is caused by insulin producing foods, nothing else.

52 years young. So tired of my false starts! Once weighed 300 lbs. kept it off most of my adult life. Since my husband passed away 2 years ago, finding it impossible to get off the weight I have put on. Just want to fit into my closet full of clothes! Could use any and all support!

I am 52 and have lost 100 totalas of this week. 67 in the past two years so it can be done. I am a slow loser and still have 40 to go but there is hope.
I am on Atkins and have the further restrictions of the Candida diet. That was the missing puzzle piece to finally get my weight losses moving.
Low carb is my lifetime WOE now and the less processed food I eat the better I lose.

for tish -- try cutting out Linda's dairy heavy recipes and focusing on meat and veg for awhile. I found that would usually kickastart me again

Hi! I am 66yrs of age and have been on Weight Watchers since Jan. 18, 2012 and have dropped 17 lbs of the 102 lbs I want to lose. It is something that I know is going to take time and when I am there, I should have better eating habits, while changing the way I think and use food in my life. It's nice to have people around you (no matter how you communicate with them) who are on the same journey as you. Good luck, don't give up, this is for you.

Hi, I'm 50 & have 140lbs to lose, I'm fed up with people looking down their noses at me so I am going to do it this year, & probably next year too! Trying to be realistic this time, if I could do it in 2 years that would mean I have to lose 1.5lbs every week with no plateauxs or holidays or illnesses. So at the moment trying to get my head straight & realise that this can't be a diet which loses it all by my birthday or next Christmas but will be a long haul. Hope you suceed in your aims - good luck & you clearly are not alone
