I believe the colors change as you progress. Everyone starts off red - you change to yellow/orange at about 1/4 of your weight lost, yellow/green when you reach 1/2 way, dark green at 3/4 of your weight and blue when you hit your goal. I think.

Welcome! I just have to say "Amen!" to gnat824 - she pretty much said everything I was going to say - including trying to get your husband on board. My hubby & I are doing this together and it has been a HUGE help having us both on the same path.

Just curious : What made you fall for your better half?
Well, there are so many things - I'll boil it down to the fact that he treats me like a queen. Especially when we started dating - he would do ANYTHING for me. This included going along on a cross-stitch convention trip! I warned him that he was headed into the "estrogen ocean" - but he still wanted to go! WOW!

5' 7" 222 lbs Size 16/18/20 pants - depends on type & cut Size 16/18 dresses XL tops (38D bra) (down 2 cup sizes in the girls) My goal used to be size 12/14 & 170 lbs. - my trainer is saying "no way" - he says size 14/16 & 200 lbs. -- we'll see for now

48lbs lost and my thighs arnt getting any smaller, help!
First let me say I agree with all of the above! I have thunder thighs, too! And don't even get me started about what is wrong with the concept of "beauty" in this day and age. It's unrealistic most times! Anyway, my two cents is that I have had a lot of luck at the gym with my hips/butt/thighs. My personal trainer has me working on the hip adduction, hip abduction, and glute machines every time I work out. The hip adduction & hip abduction are 48 reps every day, by the way. (tiring!) Well, anyway - I've lost 3 pants sizes in about 3 months - and most of it right in that hip/butt/ thigh area. If you have access to the gym or the exercises that mimic what those machines do - You might want to give it a try!

Need to Vent
I always try to live by the advice of Thumper in the movie Bambi: "My momma always says - if you can't say somethin' nice; then don't say nothin' at all." I think that might apply well to this subject. I will say that I have gotten some GREAT advice from many people here. I don't even pay attention to what diet they are doing. I take that advice and add it to what my personal trainer and my doctor says and then I go from there. I have also gotten some wonderful encouragement from the people here at FS and I am very grateful for all of it!!

What's on your Most Eaten Foods List?
Well, because the trainer has hubby & I on cereal, cereal, and did I mention cereal - here's my list: Fiber One Original Fiber One Honey Clusters Light Vanilla Soymilk Grapefruit Prune Juice (something about starting the metabolism ?) Cofee Bananas Iced Tea Splenda Water At least there's not much junk on that list, anymore! :)

Most of the people are nice and I have even had other women come up to my hubby & me and tell us what a good job we're doing!

Is Eating a Low Fat Diet Good for Weight Loss?
When I was with Weight Watchers several years ago, the group leader told us something that sticks with me to this day. She said to be careful of all the low fat items on the shelves out there. If you look at the food label, you'll be surprised how many low fat items are actually higher in sugar and calories. In a lot of the products they take out the fat, but then add more sugar or possibly other ingredients that aren't really good for you. I'm not sure if someone on FS posted this or not - but it's worth a good read. I found it very interesting.

Surprise Benefits of Weight Loss?
Wow! I have so many little day-to-day things. (A weight loss blogger calls them NSVs (non-scale victories). I agree with the others - I don't seem to get sick as quick as I used to. I, too, find I can stand for much longer periods of time. Of course, there's all the clothes from the back of the closet that now fit again. It's also things for me like the fact that I feel stronger. I've suffered with L4/L5 spinal subluxation for about 15 years now and this is the strongest I've felt in a long, long time. It's not so hard to do even simple things like lug the laundry up and down the steps or be able to bend down and pick things up off the floor. It's great!

When do you record foods- before/during/after eating?
I do my breakfast & lunch while I'm eating, but supper is always after I've eaten; but by then I've got a good idea in my head what I have to left to spend to stay within my RDI. I've learned (the hard way) to check out restaurant menus online before I go places. I'm more often than not surprised at how high in calories so many "good" choices turn out to be!
