Hi, new member: thankful for such a great site
Hi Angela; I'm Susan, a grandma living in south florida. I have been on fat secret for some time. Last year I lost and gained back the same 15 pounds on south beach. After deciding to give up all dieting, I changed my mind and joined weight watchers 3 weeks ago. I find the diet easier to follow than I ever did in the past and so far (it is only the beginning) it's working! I find the meetings which I pay for in advance, keep me grounded. Take it slowly-good luck. I am also looking at 20=30 pounds.

I have been away all week in NY with grandkids and this is the first opportunity I have had to get to computer...... 1- The boys and I played tennis, an olympic sport once again. We did play 3 different games. As for tally: Sat 5 Sund 4 Monday4 Tuesday5 Wednesday 3 - too much vacation eating Thursday 4 Friday 3 As for a new chineese dish, I ate salted shrimp for the first time. First of all, that is a very expensive dish-but tasty. I only know it is coated in a coarse salt-Do not know the recipe. As for my weight, I believe it is 154.5 -Using a different scale on vacation.

Cindyshine: My tally for the week Saturday 4 Sunday 3 Monday 5 Tuesday 3 Wednesday 2 Thursday 4 Friday To do a 5 I submitted one recipe on the main challeng forum. I submitted a talk on "relaxation methods" for this week's mini challenge. My weight: 155 as of today! Perhaps it will be lower by Saturday/Sunday? If not, 155 is the last listed weight.

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
Mini challenge for this week (8/04-8/09) For most of my life I have endured anxiety, at times worse than others. I have seen counselors, taken meds, and on the whole do rather well. However, there are times when my anxiety can become overwhelming even with the help of all of the above. I have learned to handle this in a natural way as of late. The procedure is muscle tension and relaxation of all the muscles of one's body. You can do this reclining in bed, eyes closed, and concentrting on all the major muscles of your body (from toe to head, or from head to toe). This is where you can learn the method. Today a 4 Too many carbs - although not unhealthy carbs. I have to reduce carb numbers and see if that's why I am not progressing, but it is awfully tough because lots of veggies and fruits make me "sick to my stomach."

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
Was away during the week so late with this recipe. [b][i]Chick pea Salad with Feta Cheese, onions and Basil & Olive oil with garlic.[/i][/b] Drain one cup canned chick peas. Cut up raw onion pieces to taste. Add 1/4 cup feta cheese. Add some fresh basil leaves. Add 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil and chopped garlic. Mix all together. Chill. Serve. This salad has protein, good carbs, and oil, all of which make a healthy dish

3 Points for today; too many carbs, and drinking a new orangeade (lo cal) has made me gain weight!!!!!!! The drink because it is loaded with salt.......Have a hard week ahead of me in order to turn around weight!

Tally: Monday: 4 Tues: 5 Wed: 3 Thursday: 3 I say 3 for today because having eaten dinner our, there was a bit too much sauce in the foods I chose. However, I am still sticking to ban my idea that I am on maintenance; instead I consider today a slip from dieting and definitely am not putting myself on maitenance. Tomorrow I'll eat home and work towards a 5.

Mon. 4 Tues 5 Wed. 3 Hi, I'm Susie-68 year old grandma to two lil boys and 2 lil girls. I live in Florida, one daughter lives in the same state, but hours away-she has the girls; my eldest daughter lives in Westchester, NY, with the 2 little guys. I am retired and visit each of the daughters several times a year. I haven't been married for a very long time-have many good friends here in Florida where I moved to 4 years ago from New York. Glad to meet all my new buddies and old ones as well on this site.

Tally, Wedneseday: 3 I overate alot today; started in the movies when I brought cookies in rather than eat popcorn......then at dinner I really wound up eating cheese, crackers, winter squash and steak and salad dressing, and tomaote sauce on my veggies. Tomorrow will be better when I have better control over snacking. I was not prepared by bringing cheese to the movies.....

Foods you can't live without
Salsa & Light sour cream - as a dressing or dip. Mashed fresh avacado. Use as a spread. Oven baked french fries-slice a baking potatoe, salt it and spray pam on it. Roasted Chick Peas. (bake in oven) Peanut butter. Fudgicles. Cool Whip.

Summer B.E.A.C.H. Challenge!
I gave myself a [i][u][b]4[/b][/u][/i] as a tally point for Monday. I entered some more info in my journal, but wanted to get my tally here as well. 4 because I introduced some phase 2 food to my new challenge, however, I am going to include 1 or 2 approved carbs to start because I set myself up for failure when I "say" I am going to do phase 1 AGAIN. If I do the same today I will surely give myself a 5. Too many veggies effect me badly so I need to rely on carbs other than veggies to fill me up. My banned excuse: I will maintain for the time being, even though I have not lose my full amount of weight. My habit to break is to stop maintaining, and follow SB to lose the additional 13 pounds or so that I need to lose!
