Do I Really Burn That Much?
I use this RDI calculator [url=http://www.freedieting.co... It even calculates a 7-day zig zag (rotation) calorie plan for you. If you subtract 1500 from the FS totals instead of 1000, it is more accurate to your weight loss needs. At least it seems to be working for me and it agrees with the above RDI calculator and my doctor's recommendations. :)

Muscle Loss-- considering Metabolic Diet
I forgot to mention that if you choose to carb cycle, you might benefit from doing the higher carb-loading on days that you DO exercise so you burn the carbs instead of really "load" them on. KWIM?

Tips for quick workouts
Honestly, I have been trying to work in cardio for two years now and I am a SAHM. I don't live in a safe neighborhood and getting people to walk with us was hard. Walking just does not raise my heart rate enough, even when pushing a stroller. I finally broke down and bought an elliptical (saved up for it). It is cheaper than a year at any local gym and I do it during her nap time. I get on it an hour a day now. My husband gets on it when we put her to bed at 8pm and he works all day. He didn't want to go to a gym after work either because he wants to spend time with us after working all day. It is hard for him but he can pound out at least 2 miles on it in 30 minutes. We got a Schwinn A40 through walmart.com. With site to store you don't have to pay shipping.

Muscle Loss-- considering Metabolic Diet
I actually put on muscle quite easily on Atkins. A few years ago (pre-baby) I lost 17% body fat (and 2 dress sizes) but only 5% of my weight in 3 months doing strict Atkins and exercising regularly (cardio 5x/wk and weights 3x/wk). I actually have high metabolic resistance. I didn't have any problems with energy level, but I found I did have to eat many small meals in order to keep my energy level up. Hunger was no longer the signal of needing to eat due to ketosis. If I ate about 200 calories of protein and fat about 30-60 minutes before my 1-2 hour long workout sessions, I was fine. Once you get to maintenance and you don't have fat on your body to burn any more, of course you have to fuel your body with some pre-workout carbs, but while you have fat to burn, if you are in ketosis you should be easily burning the fat on your body. If you only eat enough carbs that you burn in your workout then theoretically you could stay in ketosis, or at least return to it quickly. To the person who tried Atkins for 2 weeks and said they had no energy, it was probably because you were still detoxing from carbs. It also took me a while to get to a stable eating regimen on Atkins because it took me a while to realize that I needed to eat more often when I no longer felt hunger. Doing a diet for 2 weeks does not provide an accurate example.

LOST all my diet calendar and info!!!
I had my profile up on the website way before they had the app and when I got the app I just sync the data onto my phone. I didn't have any problems when I had to factory reset my phone and reinstall the app, it just synced again. Maybe it doesn't happen if you create your account online and just access it from your phone. Did both of you who lost your data create your account through the app?

How to increase calories on Atkins?
Vegetables don't have a lot of calories but they can be a vehicle for healthy fats. Olive oil, butter, ranch dressing, etc. Good luck!

Focus
I find that sometimes I lose inches and not weight necessarily. That happens when you lose fat and gain muscle. Good luck!

First week on Atkins
Don't forget the veggies! They don't add a lot of calories but they can be the vehicle for the butter or olive oil! :)

Down side to LOW low calorie intake?
I have read a lot of benefits to calorie cycling. As long as you are not hungry you shouldn't force yourself to eat more. If you are worried about nutrients, look into a good supplement. :)

RDI
Short answer: YES. Long answer: It depends on how accurate your "activity level" report is. Since I have high metabolic resistance I put "sedentary" even though I am quite active. Then I enter in all of my exercise in the exercise diary, even how long I stand, sit, walk slowly, do housework, etc. on average every day. I add in my actual exercise too. I find that in order to lose weight I need a deficit (calories out minus calories in) of over 1600 calories if everything is taken into consideration. I think the RDI is a good "maximum" but I can only maintain on my RDI calculated by FS. To lose weight I need to eat less than 1600 calories, but FS says 2000. I think what you eat also makes a difference.

Should I stop Atkins??!!!
Before I started Atkins I cut just sugar and refined carbs for a week. I think it helps a lot in just how you feel. Just stay strong and we are all always learning. Hang in there. Just read more and keep educating yourself. Ignore the negativity!

Atkins Diet
I have had salad with breakfast before. I personally don't eat soy any more, but soy scrambles are tasty. You could also do a modified low-carb diet. Just cut the higher carb fruits and chose smaller amounts of lower-carb grains for him. My husband does very well just cutting those things.

My friend has a permanent leg injury from birth and she LOVES Chair Yoga. You can get DVDs of different levels on Amazon. There are some great reviews of them on there too! :)

Spouse's poor eating habbits
As a woman, I can say that you can't really make her eat right. You can tell her you love her the way she is and you like her shape, but that you just have concerns about her health. However, I think the best way might be to lead by example. Eat healthy. Get excited about trying new healthy recipes together. Tell her about interesting articles you read about sugar and trans fats, etc. Make it about sharing your enthusiasm instead of trying to control her. You can do it!

How much should I be exercising to see results?
Work your way up to at least 30 min, 5 days a week. Yes, do what you can. All of us had to start somewhere. I remember years ago when I started at the gym I could only do 10 minutes of cardio, then I kept going and I worked my way up to 15 minutes then 20 and so on. Just hang in there. If your bowflex is a strengthening machine you might want to do some walking too on alternate days.

FEELLING TIRED ALL THE TIME
If you calculate that you are eating enough calories, you might look into having your thyroid checked.
