Weight gain?
I think you all may be right about getting a scale that shows the body fat percentage. I am pushing water and I have been eating more fruits and veggies lately. Also, I don't add every single thing I eat. I would say most days I do, but I don't add meals that I can't even begin to know what the calorie count may be.

Weight gain?
:( I have been calorie counting since July 28th and I have dropped about 25lbs. On November 1 I weighed 175. (I eat 1100 to 1200 calories per day.) On November 7th I weighed 179. So I started really pushing water. Today I weighed 176. I feel a bit discouraged. After only eating 1200 calories per day, should the scale be moving a bit more to the right? (I can't exercise yet due to back problems-just got a surgery date for Microdiscectomy/decompression L4-L5 of December 16-so excited!! After that I can exercise again!)

Body cleansing
I have never had a "cleanse" in my life. I am interested. Why do people do these?

eating to your bmr
I am very confused about this issue, so I am glad you posted it. About a month ago I caught a nasty upper respiratory infection. It laid me out for a week and it took 2 weeks to shake it. I spent a week in bed sleeping 18 hours a day. During that week I didn't have any appetite, so I was probably eating about 500 calories a day. I lost 5 lbs that week. So, my guess is that unless we limit our calories severely, this method won't work. (Keep in mind that I was sleeping and/or in bed the whole 6 days, so I wasn't expending any calories to speak of.)

Wheat, Soy, Milk, Corn Food Sensitivities
Have you tried Rice milk? Almond milk? Coconut milk? Fish is an excellent protein along with beef. Lots of veggies, too.

about artificial sweeteners
Maybe sweeten your oatmeal with sliced fruit? Bananas are awesome in hot oatmeal. Also, berries may be a good option. I would rather have the nutrition than just plain sugar, but 15 calories in a teaspoon of sugar isn't too bad.

Former Anorectic now loosing baby weight
I know he means well, Hobo, I just don't like to eat at 9 or 10pm and then go right to bed. I get reflux sometimes when I do that. So, last night about 9pm I was eating a bowl of cereal with soy milk.

Former Anorectic now loosing baby weight
While I have never had Anorexia, I struggle to get in all the calories each day, to the point the my husband nags that I haven't eaten enough. I get so busy with work, school, being caretaker to both my parents and running a household, cultivating a marriage and having health issues myself (microdiscectomy scheduled for January) that it's difficult to get the calories in.

Excuses
A coworker and I just had a similar conversation last night. We put sweat equity into so many things. But we put ourselves last. We must remember no one else can do this for you. We can make all the excuses we want, but who will pay the ultimate price? Well said, Lara. People have to reach that point where they realize there is no choice but to take action.

Wow...
I love my Droid calorie counter. I always have my phone with me, so there is no excuse for not logging my calories. It's amazing when you see the raw numbers. I especially love the bar scanner. Makes logging food a snap!!
