50 LB WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE - WELCOME
Not sure where this should go, so I apologize for the cross post. Week 3 weigh in comin atcha: Down another 5.9 from last week for a total of 12.9lbs lost! Woot! I'm also down almost 14 inches, which is insane to me. Mostly in the chest of course, but I'll take what I can get. Thanks again to everyone for all your support and advice. I couldn't do this without this group, I know it! Regarding diet pills: I haven't tried and don't want to. Closest I got was herbalife, which was just atkins with supplements. Unless my doctor prescribes them, I won't be trying them. If there was a diet pill that really worked, they'd be more famous than Viagra and our doctors would have told us about them by now. 50 LB WLC - WEEK #3
I'd like to meet a woman who's not an emotional eater.:lol: Best thing I've done to avoid it all is to get it all out of my house. I have no junk. I have little to no processed foods. I tossed them ALL. Now I have no choice. If I get emotional there's nothing there. I grab for laundry or dishes or this website to get me thinking about something else. [b]Cleaning helps[/b]. I know that's weird. It makes me feel [b]more in control[/b]. I've also added working out to the list of things I do when I get emotional now. Which is MUCH harder. Why is the getting [b]on[/b] the treadmill so much harder than getting [b]off[/b]? You guys ever hear of the [b]Jerry Seinfeld productivity trick[/b]? [url=http://lifehacker.com/sof... break the chain[/url]. That's another thing I've been using that strangely seems to be working. So this week: [b]I will not break the chain[/b]. Healthy eating every day. Breakfast every day. Protein with every meal. Move more than yesterday. Sleep before 11pm every day. I have so many chains I'm gonna look like Mr. T! Down another pound! And I've gone from being able to walk for 10 minutes to going a full 30! Hoping to hit 45 this week! You guys are AWESOME!

50 LB WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE - WELCOME
w00t! You guys are so inspiring to me. The big challenge is great but the weekly challenge has me really focusing on how much I drive (or take the elevator) vs walking. I had no idea how bad I was. I don't really have anywhere to walk besides when I'm at work because the health food store is just too far and I refuse to go to the convenience store for anything anymore - WAY too many cravings there. I work in a college, which has a nice big campus, so I'm taking advantage of that and walking to the bathroom on another floor and in another building whenever I have to go. Every little bit, right? Goodness knows I'm going to the washroom enough now. Who knew healthy people spent so much time peeing? :) Keep it up! Everything you do isn't just good for you, but it inspires the rest of us to push ourselves towards a more healthy life. Every week I'm coming up with a new 'visual' to use to get me to 'my healthy place'. This week I'm thinking about how awesome it would be to be able to fly on a plane again. Once I open up that opportunity I'll be able to experience SO MANY new and amazing things. Maybe a fatsecret meetup somewhere so I can meet you awesome people in person!

50 LB WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE - WELCOME
K so I'm doing my official post to prove that I'm still in the challenge. Sorry again for jumping the gun on thursday. Now that I know the rules I'll be better :) Had a great week. Learning how to read nutritional information and working on learning about nutrition in general. My focus was on learning what kind of whole foods I like (because in the past I totally avoided anything that even resembled healthy), getting my morning routine sorted out so I had time to eat breakfast and put 10 minutes of movement in every morning ( I was late for work all week, but I think I've got it figured out now LOL), and drinking my water. I also picked up a new WW scale so I can keep an eye on my muscle mass and BMI. I didn't have an exercise goal because I truly didn't know how my body could handle. So I gradually amped up my walks and workouts until I hit my wall. Which came fast, but whatever: I have to start somewhere. Now I can set some goals for next week and know I won't hurt myself. I'm a total noob here, so I'm really appreciating all your experience. Thanks to everyone for being so inspiring and informational. You're all great! :)

Sorry I jumped the gun there folks. (re: posting my weigh in on thursday). I weigh in for WW on thursdays and was so excited I put it up. I'll just add my thursday weigh ins on Mondays with you guys. LOL This is awesome. You guys are a great inspiration to me. I just ignore the negativity (when there is any) and focus on the positive. WW Flex Points, Core or Bad Idea?
Just wondering why you're restricted to the chains at lunch? You could pack a lunch right? I never thought in a million years I would pack a lunch, but since I started it's saved me a tonne of points (AND MONEY). Think about trying it just for a week and see how it goes. And ya, like Melyss says, don't worry about the points. Figure out what you like that's a zero or a one and fill up on them and water during the day. Good luck! You're going to do great!

Fat and fabulous wants to be heavy and healthy
Hi all, Just wanted to say hi. I've been here for a while, but am only really starting now. Long way to go, but am motivated because I'm sick of the pain that goes with being this big. Looking forward to getting to know you guys - looks like an awesome crowd! You're all so good to eachother. That's the way it should be. I can be a good friend too. Can we still join or are we out of luck? :cry: I have way more than 50 to lose, but would love to try to get that far by Dec. I'd love to be a part of you guys to help motivate me if it's not too late... Fatsecret should let us set up these things (group challenges) and have it automatically do the math...

How do I add a private recipe
You can add it in the cookbook,you add all ingredients,then when you select that item from the cook book,go to "view" and it will show what you put in...each item and quantity.
