Need Support
I watch the Biggest Loser and look at how great they look as the weesk progress. I weigh myself first thing in the morning a couple of times a week, and also measure my waist and hips, and record it in a little note book that only I can look at. I also go out when the weather is good, we've had quite alot of rainy days and now it's snowing so I am getting on my step machine when the adverts are on tv. Keep your food diary on here too, if I don't I don't lose as much weight. Good luck!

any ideas
Try to do something which gets you out of breath, walking several miles a day is good. Just get off the bus a couple of stops from your usual one, use the stairs instead of the lift. Keep a food diary and write everything down. Fill empty yoghurt pots with sugar free jelly and if you get the nibbles have one of these. Phone a friend. Hoping to see less of you.

Visiting the US- advice please!
I am thinking about coming to the US for a visit in a while. My plan is to start in New York, go to Florida by Amtrak stopping of at places on the way, then to see a friend in New Mexico, onto Monument Valley, then Las Vegas, to see a friend in California and finally San Francisco, I am spending my children's inheritance! At the moment it is just into the planning stages and I keep adding things to it. The latest is to see a basketball game or a football game, I know nothing about either and would appreciate some advice about going to watch a game. Also any advice that anyone thinks I might need for visiting places. Thankyou very much to anyone who takes the trouble to reply.

Not new, but newly back and needing some weight loss buddies!
Wow, a single Mum of 5- you're certainly brave, I couldn't cope with all of that. I'm here at the end of this if ever you want to have a rant about something! Enjoy your dinner out on Sunday, forget about the diet, weigh yourself 1st thing Monday before your little treasures get up and then start. Good luck.

Newly Back
At 14 your body is still growing and you need certain nutrients to help it along, as I don't know what a Paleo diet is i would suggest that yuo cut out all junk food, eat healthily and find someone to exercise with to make it fun.

Exercise After Knee Replacement
For around 4 years the doctors and physios insisted that I had arthritis in my left knee, however earlier this year on a visit to the doctor she decided to check out the x-ray of my knee, I've never had one! So off I went for the x-ray and back came the news, I don't have arthritis in my knee, I have a muscle problem in my thigh, does anyone else have anything like this. Apparently, according to my physio, my muscles in my thigh 'go to sleep when I sit down' and that is exactly how she described it to me. I am now on Painkillers and stretching exercises, plus I walk to and from my allotment most days, to look after my veg garden, that's around 1 mile. But I am not looking forward to the winter because my leg is really painful when it's affected by the cold, all your tips on here are making me realise what I might be able to do.

Can I edit Calories per day
I was on 1200 cals and this wasn't enough for me, so I upped it to 1400 cals, which is enough to lose weight with. I've just put it up to 1600, just to see what happens.

burning calories
Walking is easy to do and costs nothing. We've all heard the advice, get off the bus a stop earlier than you need, walk to work, use the stairs instead of the lift, it all works. Good luck to everyone on here.

Zooming in on weight history
Hi I started again after I got christmas and New Year out of the way and decided that as I was having a new start I would delete all my previous weight records, I didn't want anything to put me off. As I am retired now I am finding it harder to lose weight, so anything that is going to detract is going to have to go! Good luck.

sewing
I am sewing beads on a dress, the most boring tedious job ever! Should it go on my exercise diary as 'sitting'?

working
I was doing alterations to a dress and decided to work until it was done- so at some point during the early hours around 2am I decided I was hungry and had some toast, going to bed finally at around 4am. So my question is did I eat the toast on Friday or should I class it as Saturday as I went to bed a couple of hours later- which day should I record it on as food?

Lemon Mousse
I think we should start a campaign for supermarkets to sell desserts in single packs instead of the 6 pot sizes they do now. I found lemon mousses next to yoghurts in the supermarket and I thought they might be a substitute for the choccy and biscuits I've given up for Lent so I bought a pack of 6. I had 2 the next day and the day after I had the other 4! This all helped towards me putting on 2lbs this week and it's something else I'm not going to buy.............

this is not about dieting
Thankyou for your replies. It's just that I am fed up with wasting money on cat food that they wiil not eat and while I know they won't starve I don't want to buy things they wont eat and I wondered if anyone else had met this problem. Lulu is a stressed out 5yr old cat who pulls her fur out and I don't want it to get any worse which is why I posted this message.

this is not about dieting
I have 2 cats, they are indoor cats and fussy about their food. The manufacturers have stopped making their favourite food and I can't find anything else they will eat- has anyone else ever had this problem and how did they get round it?

Is my RDI correct?
My RDI is 1600- I am 5'3" and weigh now 178lbs. I can't decide whether this is the most you can eat if you are not on a diet and you should be eating less than your RDI.
