10 pounds to lose
That's how I feel that I let myself go after I got married. I was 145 when I got married and in 2011 I got up to 210. The site is fairly easy and if you have any questions just ask. I try to keep track of my food, it gets hard sometimes, but it helps me not eat too much or too little. People also post really good hints and tips.

Being a bored eater is how I gain weight. While doing atkins I do not do that anymore because I feel full with all the water I am drinking. You just have to change your food choices eat healthier and only eat when you are actually hungry. Increase your water intake that should help you cut down your cravings. I have been drinking "sassy water", and it seems to help curb cravings. You just take a pitcher of water and slice up a lemon, a cucumber, add some mint leaves & ginger. Let sit overnight and it's ready. Set yourself some goals and stick to them. Good Luck!

I agree with the last post. It has to be a lifestyle change for you. I started atkins because a friend introduced it to me after she lost a lot of weight. I have tried several different diets and realized that this works and you can eat allot. Keep it in your head you want to lose weight and don't let family, friends or co-workers sabotage you. Plan ahead your meals and especially snacks. Good luck to you!

Hello. I sent you a buddy request, we can keep each other motivated. I have another 26 to go. I am working hard at losing it as soon as possible. I am very excited (so is my husband) about getting to the same weight when I got married almost 15 years ago.

Coconut oil-Atkins forum
I buy my coconut oil from trader joe's. When I get back to being able to eat almonds, I dip them in the coconut oil. It reminds me of a almond joy.

Rasberry Ketones
So, Dr. Oz showed rasberry ketone capsules as an aid for fat burning. I did some research on them and they do not seem bad, I think. Has anyone tried them or is using them? Just wanted something maybe to help burn a little extra :d

Thigh problem
Hi Yoli82! I have been walking, I try to do 3-4 miles 3 days a week, on the days I do not walk I ride bike 7-8 miles. We have a trail in the town I live in, so it makes it nice. So, I end up walking or riding about 4 days out of the week. I also have an eliptical that I occasionally get on. Years ago I did pilates, which did work for me, maybe I should put that back in my life. I have thought about lipo, but I do not have the $$ for that. I would rather burn it off myself. I have also been reading that to help burn fat in stubborn spots eat more healthy fats, instead of other fats. So, I just started eating more seeds and nuts and less dressings, butter, and bacon drippings. I would post pics, but I am in underwear showing the difference in my shape.

Thigh problem
My sisters do not have saddlebags, and they are not shaped like me at all, so I do not think it is genetic. I did not have them when I was younger, so I believe it is because I ate any and everything for years and did not work out. I have lost body fat% , and a 1/2 inch from my thighs since I posted this. Hard work and eating right do pay off.

That is such a true statement. I have sugar cravings all the time, since I started drinking diet pop. I have cut back, but that craving is still there. I crave twinkies all the time, not sure why.

Kanan123, So, you should have 25%carbs/75%fat on low days, then 75% carbs/25% fat on high days? Sorry, just want to make sure I am doing this right. Then you eat your weight in protein on all the days?

I have been doing atkins for a little over a year. I have held on to the last 15 pounds for awhile now. The friend who introduced me to the atkins way, is now advising me to carb cycle. I am trying to find info online about this, but would rather hear some true stories and info you guys may have.

Yes, I hate my pear shape!!! I am 5'9". When I started atkins, each thigh was 26, and now they are 23. My fat% is still 33%, when I started it was 40%. I saw on the internet that women do not slim down in the thigh area until they are about 19%. OMG is that true?? I am having a hard time losing any more weight no matter how hard I try, really discouraged...Sry I am thankful to lose what I did though.

Atkins and South beach
Atkins worked for me. I have many things, low calorie, low fat, portion control, nothing worked until atkins. I started just over 1 year ago at 210, size 15/16, I am now 165, in a size 9/10. I love it and couldn't be happier. I only felt bad for the first week. If you eat enough, you shouldn't feel sick. I agree we all are different,and you need to find what works best for you. Thigh problem
Just seeing if anyone has any experience they would like to share. I have lost 50lbs, and still have big thighs, saddlebags. I walk and ride bike about 4 times per week. Usually walk 4-5 miles per time or ride 6-8 miles. I swear they are the same size as before. Any ideas to slim them down??
