VERY IMPORTANT POST
Zero may have been a bit abrupt, but he means no harm when he points out certain realities of the web, quite to the contrary I believe. We all have different personalities and a single hasty or careless sentence online can easily be misinterpreted to mean the opposite of what one intends, as many of us have learned the hard way. Insofar as privacy on Fatsecret is concerned, one can bolt oneself into at least two levels of privacy/security, but each comes with a price as many have probably already realized. For some of us, this can often defeat the entire purpose of using the site. Perhaps it's best to just be moderate when posting and keep identifiable personal information to a minimum (a tall order on these sites). For those that are not aware of the term Social Engineering, limited explanation of how it is used to break into bank accounts, steal identities, obtain unauthorized access to networks, etc. There is no need to be paranoid, just prudent.

VERY IMPORTANT POST
:D

How often should I weigh myself?
When you see almost everyone weighing-in once a week, you should suspect/realize that once a day is better, once a month is insane. ;-)

Chips
Hi mrangel. jessyline's suggestion sounds like it will work. Don't get bogged down with trying to be too accurate when counting. Overstate the calories a bit and move on. No matter how good the tools, we can seldom get the exact counts in small restaurant situations (or otherwise for that matter). Good luck to you!

Hello
Welcome to Fatsecret Maureen! I would just begin by posting your weight and your impressions as often as you see fit. If you gain weight, try to post the gain as soon as possible as that may be even more important than posting losses. And, feel your way through the site slowly, at your own pace until you feel comfortable. You will find many good people here and they will help you find a plan suits you. Best of Luck to you! :d

I enjoyed this so much I thought I would post it. Not food related!
Definitely a very curious and fascinating list of facts and witticisms, thanks for posting.

Submitting a recipe
I've never submitted one but I've heard that it can take quite some time, to the extent that some even complain about it. I don't know why exactly. Maybe all that's changed recently.

Not technically a diet question - husband troubles
Short update: we are going to counseling to get a divorce that is fair and monitored so we don't hurt each other more than necessary to get this over with.
I'm so sorry to hear that abba. :(

Sexercise
Ok, I read the article. Yes, it's a little on the vulgar side (which makes me feel a little regret at having addressed it), there was an important line or two which I didn't parse completely, I don't like spam; but, my first impression was that the guy did have a couple points and he had a heck of a way of expressing himself. The catchy title: Sexercise, caught me a bit by surprise, and pulled me in. Initially, I thought it might be interesting and bookmarked it, but after looking at it more closely I would tend to agree with Wintersmith. As I said the other day, we are not that used to spam or this kind of promotion here on Fatsecret, so it can easily slip by one's defenses. It's only lately that I have begun to even notice it.

Sexercise
wintersmith: Totally concur with your thoughts in the first paragraph. I wasn't taking the article all that seriously but just had the impression of a half serious, half comical, somewhat dynamic style of writing that I felt worth noting. Normally, though I'm pretty well bolted down, for security reasons I just avoid these links altogether. BTW: The impression I got from the glance I took at article *was* that "boinking your way to health" was the plan. :d

Sexercise

"boink... your way to health"
Safer than diet pills.
LOL! Very witty! I expect to read the article more carefully later.

I did a speed read on this and it looked stimulating. I understand that it's this person's first forum post and his first day. Bookmarked!

Obsessed with fatsecret
I think many of us have the exact same problem. Losing weight and keeping it off requires enormous concentration and time. Hopefully, as someone mentioned above, we will eventually be able reset our systems and be able to wean ourselves off of the addiction. It's not at all a quick thing though.

Best low carb cookbook?
[url=http://www.amazon.com/Low... This seems to be one of the more popular ones, click on the image above to see details and the Amazon reviews. I considered buying it a while ago but didn't. You can use the "Look Inside" feature to see more detail (i.e. table of contents and index, no recipes). This one is in paperback and may not be a beautiful book, but there are quite a few good reviews on it (and quite a few more reviews compared to the other low carb books). Note that it appears to be out of print (there may be other editions), but it is available from resellers for under $4. If you buy it or get it at the library, please post your impressions.

wii fit?
Wii Active is a lot more hardcore than Wii fit. Wii fit is more fun, working out but still has a light game feel. Wii Active is more like having a personal trainer.

Veggies, veggies and more veggies. The more I eat the more I lose! I've been making lots of soup with lots of veggies and ground turkey or cubed cooked chicken.
