Thanks for all the input! I was most intrested in supplements that assist in breaking this insulin resistance...I have been reading about ALA and L-Carnitine and Inolin(sp).Thank you all for your responses

Pills that make you put on weight?
Yes, Some meds definetly do cause a weight gain and some aid with weight loss!!Read the prescribing info that comes with your meds or look it up...You can ask for a different med that has weight loss as a positive side effect!

Make a plan! Decide what diet you can follow and get started. Everyone has a reason to lose the weight...WHAT IS YOURS? That is your motivation. I started 1 hour at a time the first day...kept saying to myself "You CAN do this!" AND YOU CAN TOO!

Anyone use the Sweet n Low liquid? Being a SOUTHERN GAL...I love my FAKE Sweet Tea! Hate counting carbs for splenda,saccharin etc...Since there is no anti-caking agents...Is it really ZERO carbs like the bottle says?

Ok my 2 cents...Water is so important because ...it frees up your liver to do its main job of fat metabolism. If you don't drink enough water your kidneys can't function at maximum filtering your blood and the liver has to pitch in..then fat metabolism is slowed down...Hey I want my FAT to be METABOLIZED...DRINK UP!

I turn mine out of the mug slice it into rounds and pop it in the toaster oven ...I like the crunch! I add extra butter or cream cheese1

Trying to Understand Mayo!
You can make your own mayo.The atkins book and site have recipes for lots of sauces and dressings.Only carb will be the egg. Some store varieties have sugar and lemon and maltodextran so those carbs add up fast.Miracle whip has LOTS of sugar!

Any one else losing slowly or stalled with insulin resistance. I have dropped most sugar free/sugar alcohol items...and am still stalled. I AM drinking the water suggested.I am now dropping some of my higher count veggies and trying to increase fat.I read a post in the past about some who have to eat even fewer of the foundation veggies than average.What do you think?

Pickled Eggs
Being frugal...I use leftover pickle juice and a little hot pepper vinegar.Try your own combo to suit your taste.I boil and peel eggs,place in the old glass pickle jar,heat vinegar mixture and pour over eggs to cover.Place lid on and let cool on countertop a while .Then place in fridge..Best to wait a week for full flavor to develop...If the slight green tint from the pickle juice bothers you ...well buy white vinegar and do a 3 to 1 ratio of vinegar to water...straight vinegar was a bit strong! ENJOY!!

It is a fat loss induced HOT FLASH...A Dr. friend said fat on women holds estrogen...when we loss FAT - we get a surge of Estrogen into our bloodstream and then a drop...THUS A HOT FLASH is A GOOD THING!!

Trouble Balancing Everything
Try adding little ...10 min a few times a day counts the same as one longer workout...wear a pedometer aim for 10K steps...just standing up and marching in place every few hrs would be great from your circulation and metabolism too!You are already doing an awesome job!

1200 calorie per day but most of the calories still come from carbs

Good for you! Are there any other exercises you can do that do not require that you are on your feet? It will only make your weight loss results better in the end with everything else you are already ...
