Jillian Michaels 30 day shred
I did it last year for about 2 weeks and I thought I'd die with the pain in my legs. I started it again yesterday and I went straight to level 2 because I've been working out regularly for weeks now and I felt strong, it was tough but I'm surprised at how good I feel this morning, only a few aches in my shoulders and that would be from my weights. I'm going to do it every week along with my other dvds. I have to agree with Sasha-Anne, it's about measurements not scales, muscle weighs more than fat.

so what going on?
I've got exactly the same problem. I'm keeping my calories low, working out 3-4 times a week (and my workouts contain lots of cardio, weight bearing exercises, boxing etc so they are by no means easy) and so far I've lost 2 lbs. On a brighter note though, my clothes do fit better, I feel fitter and stronger but it would be nice to see a loss on the scales with all the hard work i'm doing.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me with accessing 'My' Fatsecret and calorie counter from my phone. I changed my phone from a Blackberry Bold to a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I can download the Fatsecret App / Calorie Counter but I have to start from stratch, giving a new password, weigh in etc, I can't access the app that I've been using all along. Help because I'm not able to imput my food and exercise every day and keep myself right

Veggies and Fruit
Definitely count your fruit and vegetables. I'm trying to keep my starchy carb foods low so for dinner this evening I had a salmon fillet with a variety of vegetables, brocolli, carrots, parsnips, sweet potato and courgettes. The salmon was 265 cals, tartar sauce 42 and the vegetables were 276 which shows that everything should be tracked

veges and fish eaters, share your tips!
I buy the 'Total 0% Greek Yoghurt', it's fatfree and a miniscule amount of carbs, my favourite treat each day is a couple of tablespoons of this with added berries, banana, apple etc and it helps to keep the sweet cravings away

vegetable chilli with brown rice. I use alot of quorn chicken. I make vegetable soup every week. vegetable and quorn chicken stirfry. Roasted vegetables are tastier than boiling or steaming them, I use butternut squash, aubergines, sweet potato, whole garlic and onions, I also use alot of tinned tomatoes and spices when I cook. I oven bake salmon fillets in tinfoil with a splash of soy sauce (very tasty with the roasted vegetables)

I made it thru the weekend soda free!!!
I'm doing the 'junk food challenge' on here and I managed to stick to it quite rigidly but thankfully it doesnt include red wine, which I enjoyed immensely on Saturday night and yes your Mum's quite right about the beer

bread
If we all cut out salty foods, sugary foods, processed foods, high fat foods, alcohol etc, we'd all have alot less weight problems and health problems but where would the enjoyment be? So for me it has to be about making healthier choices and balancing the best of the above, ie, wholemeal, wholegrain, lean meats, fresh fruit and vegetables and low fat options. A well balanced diet

The Exercise Diary Really Confuses Me
I think I'll give it a go now that I understand it a bit better. 3500 burned = 1 lb loss is a good to know. Thanks for your helpful tips

Time to battle with the bulge
Day 5 and I've done 3 x 40 min workout and I love the app, it keeps me focused all day. I like to check out in advance what I'm going to eat and if it's too calorific, then I make a different choice. Sticking with it will be my biggest challenge because when I'm good, I'm really good but when I'm bad ......well lets not go there ....I'm sticking with it this time

Favorite Yogurt ?
I love 0% Total Greek Yoghurt, I add sweetner and vanilla or strawberry flavouring for a fat free tasty treat. I put it over a chopped banana or apple and because it's so thick, I think that I'm having fresh cream...yum

I need to get back to 'Pre-middle Age Spread'
Thanks folks, it's day 5 for me, I'm trying the calorie counting and trying for 1200 and 1300 per day (I hope this is low enough, I don't want to go too low that it's impossible to maintain) and keeping the carbs and fat low and so far so good. I've also incorporated 3 workouts this week and I'm feeling motivated and in control. I just hope I can maintain this over the weekend which is always my downfall. I have a nasty habit of undoing all my good work once the weekend comes, it's like I'm rewarding myself 'cause it's the 'end of the week'

Insulin Resistance Diet - Best kept secret out there
Once your body takes the sugars (broken down carbs) it needs for energy and storage, the excess is packed on as fat. So eating a ton of carbs in one sitting probably isn't a good lifestyle choice.
